Noah's POV (please forgive any grammar, spelling, or word choice errors I really do try while writing and editing❤️)

I sigh as I get into the car. I fucking hate school and I'm exhausted but I'll have track soon. Paxton was driving his car to the diner, Onyx Ruby and I were driving in our car and so were the rest of the group in their own.

"They have the best milkshakes Noah I think you'd like them" I nod

"Thanks. Any other recommendations" I ask and she nods

"There are another few like the bacon cheese burger. The fries are also pretty good and so are the onion rings" I look at her and chuckle

"What's the ranking"

"The fries are a solid four and the onion rings are a two they're pretty good" I laugh. Me and my siblings rank our foods like the sides and pizza it's something we usually agree on and it fun for us to have this we've been doing this since we were kids and on that rare occasion saw each other.

As soon as we pull up to the diner Ruby was the first one out of the car

"Alright let's go dip shits I want food" Ruby said getting out of the car quickly while me and Onyx share a 'she's crazy and we both know it' look

Both Nyx and I get out of the car and start walking in when Pax joins us on our way in

"I almost just got run over by your sister on her mission for food" he says and we all laugh

Everyone fills into the booth and I look at the menu since I've never been here before.

Pax takes my menu and puts it with the rest to give back to the waiter later

"Hey I was actually looking through that" I say with a glare

"You'd like the bacon cheese burger. We've talked about this before"

I pout while huffing at Pax

"Hey. I'll pay for your food since I was apparently rude." He says lightly

I nod

"Can I have a strawberry milkshake though" I ask with puppy eyes

"Course." He smiled which I smiled back to

Eventually the waiter came back and we all placed our orders and waited until the food came.

"Here you are. I hope you all enjoy your meal" the waiter says as he placed my burger and milkshake in front of me and leaving

"Here's to another year of making our teams" Asher said as he raised his milk shake glass and I did to while everyone else raised their drinks and we clinked them.

I take a bite of my burger and almost moan at the taste.

"Good right" Pax asks I nod

As we all continued eating my phone started buzzing. I looked down and saw moms contact. I sigh and decline the call.

"You all right" Pax asked me as he saw my distraught expression

"Yea fine" I said and drank some of my milkshake.

About ten minutes after my dad called so obviously I answered

"Hey dad what's up"

"Your mom called me saying you declined her call. Look son I know you and your mom haven't gotten along since well you know" I frown

"I I just am trying to be civil with her. Especially since your mom and I practically hate each other at the current moment"

"I know I know,but why are you lecturing me" I get glances from everyone at the table

"I think you're right not speaking to her unless it's on your terms"

I soon heard the door bell ring from the other side of the phone while Rebecca goes and answers the door

"Where is my son" I hear a faint voice yell

"Esme you can't just barge into my house" dad yelled

"Noah I'll call you back" dad says and doesn't hang up even though he said he would call back.

I was about to hang up when I heard dad start to argue with mom

"No you've kept him from me" mom screamed at dad

"I have not. I told him from the start of this that he should talk to you and even talked nicely about you even though you have been nothing but a bitch to Noah and the rest of my family" dad said in an annoyed and mad manner but he didn't raise his voice

"I have my rights and I'll call the police and charge you and that whore of a wife with kidnapping" she threatened and I gasped. Pax has been rubbing my back from the start of this and I know he can hear everything due to his close proximity and how loud my mother is.

"Go right ahead Esme. Seriously go right ahead they can't do anything since I have full custody and you didn't even care. You kept him from me for so many years. Every time I tried to invite him over and either you said no or didn't even ask him so don't talk about keeping him from you. I'm letting him make his own decisions when it comes to this he's going to be seventeen."

"I think it's time to leave Esme my daughter is getting home from a friends house in a few minutes and I don't want her exposed to this" Rebecca said calmly

"Shut up you stupid whore you stole my husband from me and ruined my marriage."

"If I must remind you Esme you cheated on Nick multiple times with that husband of yours so don't put this on me. Now get out or I'll pull the cop card like you tried before. This is Nick and I's house and currently you're not welcome" before either of them could respond dad cursed lowly

"Fuck"

"What" they both ask and dad spoke to his phone. Well more like to me.

"Noah I'm so sorry I though I hung up. We'll talk about this later" and with that he hung up and I was fighting back tears.

"Shh it'll be ok" Paxton said cooing sweet things into my ear in attempts of calming me down and not caring who was watching.

I turned closer to him and pushed my face into his chest. He circled his arms around me and put his chin on my head.
