His saving grace

Noah's POV  (please forgive any grammar spelling or word choice errors)

"I really didn't think you could get him to come. Glad you did come though Noah" Ruby said as she drove.

"How far is it. If we get caught..." I didn't even get to finish before Paxton jumped in

"You're blaming us. I know" he grumbled turning to face me a crossing his arms over his broad chest

"No I was going to say we're screwed but sure. Think whatever you want about me. You always do" i say slightly agitated

Paxton sighed in an annoyed manner and ran his hands through his jet black hair.

We arrived about an hour ago but it turns out the party has been going on for hours prior.

"Hey cutie. Want to go have some fun" a girl said suggestively to me while swaying a bit

"Um. No. I'm ok thanks though" I said not wanting to upset the clearly drunk girl and have to explain to her that I like guys and not girls.

"Your loss cutie" she slurred and walked away

I walked around trying to find someone I knew. I wasn't having a good time and I for sure wasn't going to drink. Sadly I'm a lightweight and would most likely have a hangover tomorrow if I drank and that would not be good for me.

"Hey" I suddenly heard from behind me

"Hi Paxton"

"This party blows. Want to find the twins and get out of here" I nod and we start searching for them. The both of us haven't been drinking and I don't have my license unlike the three I came with so I'd be useless as a designated driver.

As we continued our search everyone started to panic and freak out.

"Fuck" Paxton cursed and then I heard it.

Police sirens

"We have to get out of here. The twins will be alright they have the car parked on the side street. We have to go" he said grabbing my arm and hauling me behind him.

"Come on" he said dragging me but then I snapped out of my daze.

We were closer to where I grew up so I knew the streets a bit better then I realized but this was Paxton's home town so I had to trust he knew where he was going.

"Through here" he said as we got close to an ally way

It was a tight fit but we managed to not draw any attention. A few police officers passed by not noticing.

I finally am able to breathe. That was before I notice the close proximity between Paxton and I.

"Hi" I whisper and he cracks a smile.

"Hi" he whispers back.

"You're so beautiful you know that" he suddenly whispers which takes me by complete surprise

"What's going on" I ask and he shushed me.

"I want to try something" he says and slowly places his lips on mine.

He starts moving his lips and I respond but quickly snap out of it

"What the hell" I whisper angrily with the fear of getting caught still looming over us.

"I-I just. I wanted to try something that's all"
he said growing annoyed and brushed me off

"Come on we have to get back before they come looking over here" he said and we walked back to my house without another word.

We climbed up the tree outside of my window and went in since I left it opened and unlocked.

"Thank god you two didn't get caught" Ruby said getting off my bed and hugging me.

"We're fine. Right Noah" Paxton said and I nodded still not understanding what happened.

"Alright. Let's get some sleep and regroup in the morning to talk about everything. Night" Onyx said leaving my room with Paxton and Ruby silently. I stripped of my shirt and went to bed tired.

Paxton's POV

What the hell did I just do.

I didn't mean to kiss him like that

"What the hell" he whispered angrily making sure not to draw any attention since the cops were still in the area and we could still potentially get caught

"I-I just. I wanted to try something that's all" I said practically growling at him

I didn't mean to snap at him because it wasn't him I was mad at. I was mad at myself for not being more careful.

"Come on we have to get back before they come looking over here" I point out and we carefully made it back to Noah's house quickly.

We climbed the tree which was neighboring his open and currently unlocked window

We climbed in and saw Ruby and Onyx sitting there

"Thank god you two didn't get caught" Ruby said getting up off of Noah's bed and hugging him.

"We're fine. Right Noah" I said trying to hide the awkward tension between us and he nodded.

"Alright. Let's get some sleep and regroup in the morning to talk about everything. Night" Onyx said while we all agreed. Ruby onyx and I then all left Noah's room.

That night I went to bed thinking and reminiscing in what had happened in that ally way. It all left me so confused on what had happened but had me wanting more.
