No Promises

Y/n and Steve spent the next few days making their way home. They barely spoke to each other as they are still saddened by the recent events.

They are standing outside the compound debating on going in. We'll Steve is anyways

Y/n:"come on"

Steve:" he will kill me when he sees me you know that?"

Y/n:"no he won't now come on"

They walk inside and are immediately met with with Nat, Tony and Bruce.

Y/n let's out a sigh of relief.

Y/n:"oh my god you are okay!"

She runs over to Tony engulfing him in a hug.

Tony:"baby it's so great to see you. I was so worried"

Y/n:"I was so worried too, about all of you guys"

Tony looks past y/n to see Steve.

Tony:"well well well"

Steve:"listen Tony i-"

Tony:"forget it, what's going on out there is bigger than whatever went on between us."

Tony stands up and walks over to Steve.

Tony:"if we are gonna do this, we have to do it together"

Steve:"and we will"

The boys share a short hug.

Nat stands up and speaks up.

Nat :"good to have you back"

Steve:"so good to be back"

The team was slowly forming again.

Nat :"I also made a call to someone who should be here by now but i-"

Clint:"looks like thanos couldn't even get rid of ya huh Tony?"

Tony :"if I leave you guys here who is supposed to pay for everything?" he laughed.

Steve:"what made you come back Clint, I thought you retired after Germany"

Clint :"well that son of a bitch thanos took my family so here I am"

Y/n:"so we are doing this?"

Bruce:"it will be hard but I believe we can"

We spent the next few days discussing what we could do. Then those days turned into weeks. Then weeks into months. It has been almost a year since the blip and the team is still experimenting and trying to solve this.

The avengers were all in the lab when there was some camera footage from out side

"hello?? Can anyone hear me?"

Nat:"is that old footage?"

Steve:"that's from today.."

"my name is Scott lang, I'm ant man!"

Tony:"get him up"

Scott walks into the compound and join the avengers in the lab.

Scott:"okay so I have been trapped in the quantum realm for the past year."

Nat:"oh my god that must have been hard"

Scott :" see that's the thing. Time is different in the realm. For me it was 2 hours."

Scott then teaches the avengers about the quantum realm and in exchange they tell him about thanos and what happened.

Scott:"half of the universe?!"

Bruce :"yup"

Scott "I have an idea"

Y/n:"what"

Scott:"what if we use the quantum realm to go to a certain time period to get the stones before thanos."

Steve:"does he mean?"

Tony:" time travel"

Scott:"no, well yes. If we get the stones we can reverse this thing"

Y/n:"you guys think it's possible? "

Bruce :"I don't know guys this is out of my expertise"

Nat :"Tony?"

Tony:"I wouldn't say I have experience in the time travel area but we have to try. Cmon Bruce"

Bruce:"alright guys but no promises"

Clint :"so you're telling me we have been here for a year amounting to nothing for Scott to fix things in one day" he joked.

Y/n:"let's leave them to it guys"

Everyone but Tony and Bruce leave the lab.

Nat walks over to y/n

Nat:"I really hope this works"

Y/n:"me too cause I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't." she gives Nat a weak smile.
