You Know What This Means

*nobodys POV *

The team are all in the lab with the 'time machine' and are fully suited up.

Tony :"alright we will be spit up in teams."

Bruce:"team one is Tony, Nat, Steve and Scott"

Tony:"team two is-"

Lashes of thunder are heard outside.

Y/n:"I didn't know there was a storm today"

Thor bursts in the door.

Thor:"you mortals didn't think you could do this without me did you?"

Bruce:"what made you come here?"

Thor:"an old friend needed a favour" he looks at Steve. "and I brought company"

A raccoon walks in.

Clint and y/n:" a squirrel?"

Rocket:"watch it! I'm a raccoon you douchebags"

Nat:" a grumpy squirrel"

Everyone laughs except rocket.

Thor:"and there is also one more.

Carol walks in the door.

Y/n:" Carol?! "

Tony:" we thought you blipped"

Nat:"yeah you weren't here"

Carol:"well there are many other earth's who unfortunately don't have the avengers keeping them safe"

Y/n:"it's so good to see you Carol"

Carol walks over to y/n and kisses her sweetly. Y/n returns the kiss and in her head realises what is going on and pulls away non chalantly.

Tony:"alright then new teams! Team one will stay the same. Team Two is y/n and Carol. Team three is Thor, Clint and the squirrel"

Rocket :"raccoon!"

Bruce:"team one is gonna be in new York. Team two in vormir. Team three is asgard."

Over the next hour the team is notified on what they will be doing on the mission. They know what stones they will be getting and how to work the time travel suits.

They all stand on the machine getting ready to leave.

Nat:" see ya in a minute " she winks and they all press the buttons in their suits to dissappear.

Team one in new york successfully got their stones with a few minor bumps along the way. Thor also retrieved the stone he needed in asgard.

Now that leaves us at vormir.

Y/n:" well this place is creepy"

It is dark and gloomy. Silence fills the air and creates am eerie atmosphere.

Carol:"understatement of the year"

The girl are interrupted by a man.

"welcome to vormir"

Y/n:"where is the stone?"

Carol:"way to be subtle"

"in order to retrieve the soul stone, blood must be shed"

Y/n:"excuse me?"

"a soul for a soul" he points over to the cliff then vanishes.

Carol:"you know what this means"

Y/n:"no there has to be another way"

Carol:"there isn't"

Y/n:"let me go then" she starts to run towards the cliff but Carol grabs her hand and pulls her back.

Carol :"that's a strong no"

Carol pushes her back and begins running to the cliff herself but y/n uses her powers to push Carol to the side making her fall. Y/n jumps on top of Carol and pins her arms down.

Y/n :" I'm not gonna let you do this"

Carol:" you need to live. For your dad. For Nat. For Wanda.."

Y/n:"what do you mean Wanda"

Carol:"I know you guys were back together. Tchalla told me. And before you get mad at him. It's okay. I knew we were never meant for forever. I will always love you"

While Carol said these words y/n lost focus and loosened her grip on carols arms. Carol removes her arms from y/ns grasp and kicks her off her. She then sprints towards to cliff and jumps off and looks at y/n.

Y/n jumps up and runs towards the edge of the cliff to see carols lifeless body at the vottomf of vormir.

Y/n:"NO" she begins sobbing.

Time goes by and y/n wakes up in a lake and the place is dimly lit. For a second she forgot what happened. But was quickly reminded by the stone lighting within  her hand. She pressed the button on her suit to travel back and is reunited with the team. She falls to her knees.

Bruce:"guys we did it"

Tony :"incredible"

Nat:"y/n where is Carol"

Y/ns answer was the stone in her hand that she extended to show the team. Everyones head dropped in sadness. Sure they got the stones but look at what it cost.

Clint:" we are gonna do this. Make Carol proud. We have to do this for her guys"

Thor:"Clint is right, Carol didn't die for nothing"

Y/n:" you're right, for Carol"

Everone:"for Carol"
