Jess
I woke up, cleaned up the house, and made breakfast. It's my everyday morning routine. It usually goes like clockwork.
James came downstairs, "Morning there".
I smiled, "Morning stranger".
James kissed me, "I have a big day at work today. Big work party, won't be home till super late. Gonna be fine today?".
I nodded, "I'll call you if I need you".
James smiled, "Perfect. Breakfast smells amazing!".
James then rushed out the door.
Ava came downstairs, "What's with him?".
"Work stuff," I handed Ava a plate, "Eat up there".
Ava grabbed it and went to the table to eat. Juli came out of the closet, then came to eat breakfast.
Ben came downstairs.
I looked at him, "Breakfast?".
"Ty" he spoke.
I got concerned, "What about ty?".
"He's doing that weird thing again. Just sitting in his bed, void and empty".
I sighed, "Did you talk to him?".
Ben nodded, "Wouldn't say a word to me".
"Shit, okay. Eat breakfast and I'll deal with it".
Ben grabbed a plate, I went upstairs.
I knocked on the door, "Ty, you in there buddy?".
No answer.
I opened it, Ty was sitting there on his bed. He was sitting up, curled into a ball, his chin resting on his knees.
"Do you like feeling like this?" I asked.
Ty shook his head very slightly.
"Then you're going to that doctors appointment in two weeks. Okay?".
Ty didn't answer, he did glare slightly.
I sat beside him, "I remember being really really little, around 3. I have a wicked good memory. I remember mom getting like this sometimes. I was always so worried about her I-".
"I'm not mom".
I took a second, "I didn't say that".
"You are".
I sighed.
"I don't have it" Ty looked over at me.
"Tyler, there is something up".
"Get out".
I got up, "Ty please-".
"Get out!" Ty yelled.
"Mommy, why're you sad?" I asked.
Mom sat in her bed, blank, void, empty. Didn't answer me once.
"Mommy what's wrong?".
"GET OUT!" She screamed.
Dad ran in and grabbed me as I started crying hysterically.
Countless times that happened. I left, shut the door, and leaned against it for a moment. I felt terrified. I didn't want him to be like mom, but he was sure acting like her.
I went back downstairs.
"Sounds like you got him out of the empty" Ben joked.
I rolled my eyes.
