Jess
"Alright," The teacher closed his book, "You guys can work on chapter 2 pages 56-65. You have till the end of class to work on it, and it's due Monday night".
Everyone got to working. I was getting excited for the weekend. The weeks were so full and busy, and the weekends were a quiet time.
"Do you honestly understand any one this?" The guys beside me asked.
I smirked, "Yeah, it's just a lot of shit on my plate".
He laughed a little, "Right".
"Did you need help?" I looked up at him.
"No, not at all. I'm just trying to make small talk," He held out his hand, "Kyle".
"Jess" I shook his hand.
"You one of the older people amongst the high school graduates?".
"Yeah, I'm 25 now I think. Honestly I stopped counting at 21. Then I could actually drink".
Kyle smiled, "Me too".
"How old are you?" I asked.
"27. I didn't really know what I wanted with my life. Honestly, I'm still not sure. I needed to get a steady job for once. I decided nursing was a good choice".
I took a second, "I had to take care of my siblings. Really, I still do. My mom had paid for school, so I had to go".
Kyle nodded, "Sounds like a shit show".
I laughed a little, "Yeah. Mom couldn't take care of us, but yet she'll send me to nursing school. My younger brother Ben to art school. Nobody else though, non of the other three".
"You wanna go out for a drink tonight?" Kyle asked.
I sighed, "I don't know. I'm pretty tired".
"Come on, I haven't slept in days. I need a drink after this shit".
I didn't answer.
"Please?".
"Fine, you've got me interested. You gonna take me?".
Kyle nodded, "For sure, it would be my honour".
I blushed.
We worked on the homework together and waited until the end of class. We set up a time, I gave him my address, and I went home.
Ava and Juli were still at school, I hadn't seen Ben in over a week, and I wasn't sure if Ty was home.
"Ty? Ty you home?" I put my stuff down.
He came downstairs, "How was class?".
I smirked, "Good. I met a guy, Kyle. He's taking me out for a drink downtown".
"Make sure he doesn't try and steal a 5 million dollar jewel again" He joked.
"Haha, very funny" I rolled my eyes.
He smiled, "Want some lunch? I can cook".
"Yeah, I could go for some food" I smiled back.
Ty started cooking for the two of us.
Ben
"Ben, come up" Mrs Altridge spoke.
I grabbed my art piece and went up to her desk. Everyone was already working on the new theme, Wonderland. If I see one Alice in wonderland inspired picture, I'm gonna end myself.
"It really came to life" She smiled as I showed her.
I laughed a little, "That is my life, so it's not that great to me".
