I only got about an hour of sleep. I pretended to be asleep, Ben was up all last night. I didn't really feel great last night, if you call feeling void a not good feeling. Usually when I feel like that I can't sleep.
I guess at one point my body shut off.
When I woke up, Ben was passed out. More than likely he'll sleep the rest of the day. There's always that chance he'll wake up in five minutes and be ready to seize the day. By seize the day, I more mean curl up into a ball and smoke his sorrows away.
Ben has been pretty quiet since his accident two weeks ago. I'm more leaning towards he knew what he wanted to happen. It hurts to admit it, but I feel like I know.
Jess knocked on the bedroom door, "Breakfast anyone?".
"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute " I spoke.
Jess went back downstairs after hassling Juli again. I got dressed and went downstairs. Ava was already sitting at the table eating.
Jess handed me a plate, "Ben awake?".
"No, I don't think so at least. He was up all night".
"How do you know?".
I sighed, "I was also up all night. I got an hour of sleep".
"You're gonna crash if you don't sleep Ty. This is like the third, fourth night in a row?".
I glared.
Jess smirked, "Okay, I'll leave you alone. I'm concerned about you though".
"The past three days have been good, don't
ruin it".
"Go eat".
I went and sat at the table with Ava.
"How's Ben's arm?" Ava asked.
"He says it's doing pretty well, doesn't hurt as much. He doesn't talk to you about it?".
Ava shook her head.
"He's just having a hard time. Alice and him broke up".
Jess looked up, "No shit. Didn't tell anyone that".
"What? You just thought he was upset for no reason?".
"He usually is" Jess handed Juli a plate as he came downstairs.
I nodded, "Touché".
"I might go talk to him once he's awake" Jess sat down with us.
I shrugged, "He won't talk. He sounds half dead".
Jess looked increasingly more concerned.
"His voice is a little gravely".
"Let's eat" Jess smiled.
It was quiet for the rest of breakfast.
"What's everyone's plans for today?" Jess broke the silence.
"Going to a friends house today. We're gonna shoot ducks with his dad" Juli gave an evil smirk.
Everyone looked a little scared.
"I...I'm gonna go to my friends house today" Ava tried changing the subject.
"Great, perfect. Anywhere is better than here lately" Jess joked.
I rolled my eyes jokingly.
"But seriously guys I'm sorry for how it's been".
"It's okay. Stuff happens" Ava smiled.
