The next days were super eventful. We cleaned up the SSG Office dahil apparently, matagal na naging tambakan 'to bago i-reclaim ni Ms. Arellano. Kawawa naman daw 'yung officers, sa AP Dept lang nagmi-meeting. We're also planning the acquaintance party bilang kick-off ng term namin.

"Bukod sa GC, nag-survey din kami para sa theme," Bridgette said. "At nagsalita na nga ang taong bayan—"

"Masquerade ball!" Yeshua interjected.

"Epal! Ba't mo sinabi agad? Napaka-atat nito."

"Dami mo kasing alam, e."

"Basta 'yun na po 'yung theme," Bridgette continued. "Tapos syempre lahat naka-mask tapos ipapa-judge natin kung sinong best mask para may pa-award!"

"Idea ko 'yun!"

"Sit down na nga kayo," I said before taking over.

Wala kasi 'yung others since they helped Bailey facilitate the election for Peace Officer sa may lobby. Another reason why I've been persistent in telling Valerie to show up kasi malay mo! She can shoot her shot.

"At sinong nagsabing magsimula kayo nang wala ako?"

"Valerie?!"

"In the flesh!"

My eyes widened. I quickly left what I was doing when I saw her with Bailey. Niyakap ko agad siya. "OMG! You're back!" I said, embracing the hell out of her. "Ano bang nangyari sayo? You missed the election—"

Bailey cleared his throat. "You're already talking to the newly-elected SSG Peace Officer," he said.

"What—" I gasped. "For real?!"

"Oo nga. Gulat na gulat?" She rolled her eyes. "Nung nabalitaan kong may re-election keme, inayos ko talaga buhay ko, 'day! Akala ko nga walang boboto sa akin, e. You know? Trying hard."

"What's wrong with trying hard?" I said. "And what do you mean by inayos mo 'yung buhay mo?"

"Nako, 'wag mo nang tanungin, 'day! Maraming nangyari sa isang linggong wala ako," sagot niya. Na-curious ako lalo! Pero mas lalo akong na-intriga when I noticed her hair.

"Wait... hold on! Girl—" I had to cover my mouth in shock. This girl never failed to surprise me! "Did you just freaking cut your hair?!"

Valerie shrugged. "Bagay ba?"

I nodded. My gosh! I never thought in a million years na magpapa-short ng hair si Val, let alone a pixie cut! But like, you go girl! "I don't know anong pumasok sa isip mo, but girl—I am living for it!" 

Val turned sideways to sport her new hairstyle kaya mas lalo akong nag-fangirl! "Oh maiba ako, ano bang ganap niyo dito?" she asked.

"Oh, we're prepping for the acquaintance party—"

"So totoo nga?!" I nodded. "Kabog naman pala, sis ko! Sa tagal natin dito, ngayon lang tayo makaka-tikim ng ganyan, ah. In fairness..."

"So true!"

We went back sa pagde-decor for the party and Valerie helped us. Full cast na po, direk! Since masquerade party nga ang theme, we chose to put castle decorations, chandelier na eme lang and then mga giant masks hanging from the ceiling. Come 6pm, we decided to call it a day. Haggard!

"Walang male-late bukas! Oath taking na natin 'yon," Bailey said.

"Nagsalita ang late."

"Ay, may issue agad?" Valerie asked. "Spill!"
