May mga instances talaga sa life na nakikipag-bargain tayo dahil walang-wala na tayo. Then, after the trials mo nalang talaga mare-realize na you could've survived without it naman but here you are—subjected to the consequences. Tulad nalang nito.
"Does anybody know you went here?" I asked Bailey habang naka-half open yung gate.
Nag-isip pa siya. "Wala naman yata. Bakit?"
"Wala. I just don't want people to associate us, you know?" I replied before letting him in. "Welcome to my humble abode!"
"Wow, rich kid ka talaga, Debbie!"
I rolled my eyes. "Di kaya."
Pumasok na kami sa loob and paakyat na kami sa hagdan when Manang asked, "Ma'am Debbie, Sir, ano pong gusto niyong meryenda? Ipagha-handa ko po kayo."
"Iced tea nalang po sa akin," Bailey said. My lips parted. "Tsaka may donut po ba kayo? Yun din po!"
Super laki pa ng smile ni Bailey when we continued walking upstairs. Bigla kong pinalo yung braso niya.
"What?!"
"You're supposed to say 'Busog pa po ako'!"
He folded his arms. "Well, I'm the guest here. Shall we enter your room na?"
I rolled my eyes. Ugh, kairita! Pumunta na kami sa study room. There's no way I'm bringing him to my bedroom, 'no!
Nilabas ko agad yung two sets of UPCAT reviewer that I got online. I handed the one reviewer to Bailey tapos nag-set ako ng timer sa gitna namin.
"50 minutes for this section," I said and pressed start.
We were busy answering the mock-test when the door swung open. Bailey stood up para tulungan si Manang ilapag sa coffee table yung meryenda.
"Thank you po, nay," Bailey said.
I raised an eyebrow. "Call her Manang."
Bailey just shrugged. He took a bite of his donut bago nag-continue sa pag-sagot ng reviewer. I took a sip of the iced tea rin nung mahirapan ako sa topic.
"Time's up!" Bailey said, raising his pen in the air. I raised my pen, too. "Exchange papers na."
We checked each other's exam. I was busy comparing his answers to the answer key when my phone buzzed.
Setiel: Hi, ma'am! Nag-meryenda ka na ba?
Napa-smile ako. For the record, Setiel's consistent sa trip niya na 'to. I thought he'd stop after a week but I'm surprised that he continued. Binaba ko yung red ballpen ko and typed a reply.
You: Yes po
Setiel: Ano pala ginagawa mo?
You: Wala naman atm. Why?
Setiel: Free ka ba? Hangout naman tayo, catch up ganun hehe :)
"Sino 'yan, ha?" Bailey said nung kunin niya bigla yung phone ko from my hand. Kairita naman 'to! "Setiel? Ka-text mo yung nakilala mo sa workshop?"
"Yes and privacy naman!" sabi ko before snatching my phone back.
"Nililigawan ka ba niya?"
"At paano kung yes?" I teased him.
I was about to type a reply when Bailey stood up and held my wrist. Nag-staring contest na naman kami.
"E kung ligawan din kita?"
