The ride to Oxenefordscire was a long one for sure so it took me maybe half of a day at most to get to this small little town in this part of England. I noticed plenty of guards walking around the streets which made me wonder why there were so many of them to begin with; I rode up to the ale house to meet Sigurd there some people gave me looks but I ignored them when I walked into the building looking for any signs of Sigurd anywhere but I didn't see him anywhere in the building.
"Excuse me, have you've seen a man that would stand out" I asked a woman next to me explaining in an easy way since Sigurd would stand out for sure.
"If you're talking about that Dane who came here starting trouble with his friend than yes I have seen him" the woman answered not in the best of moods.
"Ah, I see may I know where he and his friend might be? And I will gladly knock some sense into them both for you" I spoke again wanting to see if my words could help her mood.
"They jumped out of the window when the guards came running in taking away Geadric to the longhouse, they might be hiding in one of the fishing houses" the woman answered liking the idea of me knocking some sense into Sigurd.
"Thank you" I said back to her giving her a small bag of money for her trouble since she looked like she needed some extra coins for whatever was damaged in the bar fight.
I walked out of the building and heading towards the fishing houses to find out where Sigurd might be, also who was his friend that he was with I didn't hear him say he would meet up with anyone when he would come here. But I had to worry about that later when I went in search in the first fishing house I was near that was closest to the river shore.
Upon closing the door and walking inside I felt someone hold a blade to my throat which made me hold my hands up showing I showed no harm.
"Arnora!" Sigurd's voice came out in front of me.
"Apologies, for the rough welcome" Basim's voice was closes to me which made me turn to see him which made sense on who the friend was.
"What the hell is going on? I come here to help and find that everything has already gone down the waterfall" I spoke looking between the both of them with confusion.
"Half of the soldiers are hunting us you must have noticed" Sigurd said to me walking close to my side.
"Is that why you haven't come home? You had to go off and piss someone off?" I asked getting a little irritated but truth be told I've been irritated since I left the village.
"Your Jarl is a busy man, Arnora; weighed down by pressing duties" Basim said to me in helps of cooling off the atmosphere around us.
"Its good to see you, Basim but it would help if you'd help Sigurd keep his mind on the task at hand" I said while crossing my arms together when I looked at him.
"Its not my place to drive your Jarl like a bridal mare" Basim said back to me.
"I like that idea" I joked with a smirk on my face glancing at Sigurd who looked at me.
"I'll let you both speak alone" Basim spoke letting me and Sigurd speak alone for a while.
Basim closed the door behind him letting it just be and Sigurd alone in the small house, with my eyes on the door I could sense Sigurd walked closer to me ready to wrap his arms around me but I dodged him by ducking while I chuckled.
