We've been here for two days in this world but hours pass in the real world, being frozen for a time until we either escape or stay here; it was always the same day. Celebrating with drinks and food, I think Eivor is starting to see what this place is really like since he normally has more energy for fighting but its not a true fight with blood and death.
I walked through the halls heading to Eivor's room seeing he was passing in his room looking confused about something that he saw, he was like this since yesterday so I needed to find out what he was confused about.
"What's on your mind?" I asked as I leaned against the doorframe.
"I-I saw someone on the battlefield that shouldn't be here in these halls" he said still confused on what was happening.
"Who did you see?" I asked being confused myself.
"Our father" he said as he looked at me.
"What?" I asked a bit shocked hearing this news from him.
"On that night he died a coward giving his life, as our mother followed him trying to fight back" Eivor explained since I never knew how our parents died at all.
"What do you plan to do?" I asked a bit unsure how something like this can be possible.
"I don't know" he said a bit unsure himself as we both walked out of his bedroom.
Hearing the people celebrating once more came to our ears as we emerged out from the halls to see everyone once again enjoying themselves like they never died in the first place. Sigurd was sure enjoying himself, I sighed to myself seeing him so happy here but we didn't belong here and I couldn't lose him. The sight of our son also came to my attention as he played with his friends with wooden swords, but our real son was back home in England waiting for his parents to return. It took us six days to get to England again and it will be another six days to return, I wondered how he was doing? He must be one right about now and we weren't there but here in a dream world.
"Does something trouble you both?" Svala asked us when she stood beside us.
"I saw my father Varin, have you seen him in these halls?" Eivor said before looking at her and asking if she has seen him at all.
"I have not, should he be here?" she said before asking us both.
"No, he died a coward but by Odin's eye I have seen him" Eivor said as he looked out to the crowd of people.
"Let your worries go in Valhalla, we have earned our joy here the journey is complete" Sigurd said as he stood by Eivor placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Alvor...." I whispered to myself crossing my arms as I heard Sigurd talk about this place.
Once again the horns echoed through these halls letting the warriors yell for more battle, they charged for the gate to die over and over again but they never grew bored of it.
