"SEE YOU GUYS later!" Jieun called out, waving at us through the doorway. Jungkook and I stood on the sidewalk, waving back to her. We watched as she gently shut the door, the two of us walking down the sidewalk.
At about 10:00, Jungkook and I decided to go back home. Jungkook was determined on walking me home, no matter how much I protested. I appreciated the gesture, but I knew he had baseball practice tomorrow. By going from my house and back to his house, he would reach home pretty late. Still, the boy refused to give in. We walked side by side as the two of us drowned in the peaceful night setting. I occasionally caught Jungkook's quick glances at me, to which I pretended not to notice.
It was quite night, the vast indigo blue sky looming over us. Faint stars scattered across the canvas, the air warming the surface of my skin. Some took advantage of the beautiful weather, spending time outside or venturing towards the town. We passed several houses, watching as families and friends sat amongst one another, laughing and reminiscing in the moment.
"Did you hear about the festival next week?" Jungkook questioned, causing me to avert my gaze to him.
"Yeah. I heard you guys were planning on going," I replied, remembering back to the minimal amount of information Taehyung told me when we were in the garden.
"We were thinking about it, but Jin and Hoseok might have work so we're still unsure," Jungkook explained. He glanced at me, quirking at eyebrow. "Are you going to come?"
"Probably. Are you?"
He nodded in response, stuffing his hands in his front pockets as he sighed, starting another conversation, "Can you believe junior year is almost over?"
"Oh god, don't remind me," I huffed out, the two of us nearing towards my house.
He chuckled at my reaction, glancing down the street, "It's crazy how fast time goes by."
"Yeah. It feels like just the other day you and I were getting lost on our first day of high school."
Jungkook cringed, laughing in embarrassment, "Oh my god, don't remind me."
The memory played in my head as I spoke, small fits of laugher escaping my lips the more I spoke of the situation, "We walked into a classroom full of seniors and didn't realize we were in the wrong class until halfway into the period."
"Hey, that was your fault too. You said we were in the right class," Jungkook accused, pointing his finger at me with a bunny smile on his lips.
