"ARE YOU GOING out?"
I turned my head towards the voice, which came from my step-dad. He peeked his head into the room, cocking an eyebrow in my direction.
"Taehyung and I were going to go bowling and maybe get dinner. I already asked mom."
He nodded, stepping more into view. He leaned against my door frame, folding his arms over his chest, "You two have been spending more time with each other lately. When the junior year started, you two didn't hang out much."
I snuck a glance at him through the reflection of my mirror before proceeding to brush my hair, "Since he started dating Miyeon, we haven't had much time to hang out anymore. Since the sleepover, he's been hanging out with me a lot more."
"You've missed him, didn't you?"
I stopped brushing my hair, turning in my chair to face my step-dad. He stared at me with eyes full of confidence, a playful smile forming on his face. I was shocked, I didn't expect him to be so observant.
I pursed my lips, "Yeah"
I knew that Taehyung deserved to be happy with his girlfriend, but there were times when I did miss him. I missed hanging out with him - the two of us acting like carefree, stupid teenagers. With Taehyung being taken, it was hard for us to hang out often. I respected his relationship and him and Miyeon wanting to spend time together, so I knew when not to interfere. As we've started to hang out more, it felt like friendship was slowly piecing together again.
"Well have fun, okay?" He smiled.
I smiled back, "Yeah. Thanks, dad."
He nodded, leaning off of the doorframe and turning on his heel. He continued to walk down the hallway, entering his shared room with my mom. I turned back to face the mirror, continuing to brush my hair. I decided to leave my hair out since it looked nice already. I grabbed my jacket and draped it over my shoulders, slipping my arms into the sleeves. My movements were halted when I heard the doorbell ring, which I already knew was Taehyung. I grabbed the rest of my things and ran out of my room, rushing down the stairs. I peeped my head into the kitchen, seeing my mom quietly packing away the dishes.
"Taehyung is here," I spoke softly, hoping not to startle her.
She turned around, glancing at me with a smile, "Okay, have fun."
I nodded, thanking her before walking towards the front door, slipping into my shoes. I pulled open the front door, which awaited Taehyung on the other side. He turned around, his smile widening at the sight of me.
"Ready?" He questioned, quirking an eyebrow at me. I nodded, shutting the door behind me. We walked toward his car as I slipped into the passenger seat. I shut the door, causing Taehyung to start up the car. Soon after, he drove off, plugging in the directions to the bowling alley. I scrolled through the different radio stations, hoping to find some music that sparked my interest. After finding a suitable station, I leaned back against my seat, glancing over at Taehyung as he spoke.
