THE BRIGHT SUN illuminated through the open window, warming the surface of my bare arms. It was tranquil, pure silence filling my bedroom. I shifted under my covers, the sunlight spreading to the curves of my face. My eyes slowly peeled open, sighing as I turned to lay on my back. As I turned, a stiff feeling spread throughout my calf, sending a painful chill through my body. I glanced up, staring at my bandaged foot, which was elevated on a pillow. I furrowed my eyebrows at the sight, recalling the night before. I sat up in my bed, resting the small of my back against my pillow.

I reached over the side of the bed, grabbing my phone from my bedside counter. I turned it on, widening my eyes at the time. 10:35. First period started at 8:00, so it'd be too late to go now. I scrolled through all of my messages, noticing I had quite a few unread ones.

jieun: hey, how's your foot? I didn't see you at your locker this morning so idk if you're here

tae: I was looking for you during first period but you aren't here. I had to sit through English aLONE

tae: I hope you're doing okay. I miss you, so does namjoon

kook: heard about your foot, hope you're okay! jin says hi btw

chim: hiii

chim: hobi, yoongi and I hope you're feeling better. congrats on your win yesterday!!

I chuckled at a few of the messages, quickly typing replies to all of them. I turned my phone off, sighing as I reached for the tv remote, scrolling through the channels. A knock came from my door, causing me to avert my gaze towards my closed door.

"It's open!" I called out, confused as to why my mom shut my room door. I always kept it open, unless I had a friend over.

The door creaked open, Jaehyun peeking his head through the small space. His eyes scanned the room, immediately landing on my tired face. He pushed open the door all the way, a bowl of cereal in his hand. He walked over, placing the cereal on the countertop beside me.

"Here. Mom told me I should make you breakfast since you probably won't be able to walk down the stairs," He explained, handing me a fresh cup of tea.

I smiled, taking a sip of the beverage, "Speaking of my foot - what happened last night after the game?"

"You don't remember?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows at me. "Well, Taehyung dropped you home and Mom took you to the doctor right after. The doctor said you tore a muscle or two so he said that you should stay home and rest for a few days."

My lips formed into an 'o' shape, his words making me recall last night's events. I completely forgot about Taehyung, considering how exhausted I was yesterday. I glanced over at Jaehyun, realizing that he was home on a Monday.
