THE BELL BLARED, signaling that the period was over. The sound immediately sent all of the students to their feet, hurrying to rush out of the room. I opened my backpack, placing all of my books inside. Jieun, who sat behind me, mirrored my actions. I stood up, swinging my backpack softly over my shoulder, patiently waiting for her. She grabbed her bag, smiling at me before the two of us exited the room.

"I almost fell asleep halfway during the lesson, he's so boring!" Jieun complained, crossing her arms over his chest.

I glanced at her, chuckling, "It's good we have lunch next, or else you would've fallen asleep for sure."

She grinned, both of us turning down the hallway. We continued to make small talk, eventually reaching the cafeteria. We pushed open the double doors, laughter and the smell of school lunch filling the air. Jieun and I parted ways since I wanted to buy a drink at the snack bar. My eyes landed on a familiar meadowlark-haired boy, his lips forming in a pout as he waited in line.

I quickly ran over, standing beside him. My presence must've shocked him because his eyes grew wide at my sudden appearance. He chuckled, "Look who's back. How's your foot?"

"It feels way better than before," I responded, glancing down at my foot.

Jungkook grinned at my words. We stepped forward in line, inching closer towards the register. He cleared his throat, "So, I'm guessing Jieun already told you."

"About Taehyung and Miyeon?" I questioned, assuming that was what he was talking about.

He nodded, "Yeah. Normally stuff like that isn't a big deal but since we all have lunch together, acting like that makes everything awkward. It's practically silent sometimes."

I frowned, pondering about how it must make Taehyung feel. Something felt off about what he told me yesterday. A part of me was starting to think that he wasn't telling me all of how he felt. It felt like only a tiny piece of how he was feeling.

We eventually reached the register, Jungkook offering to pay for the both of us. Even though I wanted to pay, I decided to let him, considering that we'd probably end up arguing if I refused. Handing me my juice, the two of us made our way towards our lunch table. The rest of our friends were seated, awaiting us. There were two empty seats left, one next to Jin, the other beside Taehyung. Miyeon sat near him, her eyes piercing into mine.

I decided to take the seat beside Jin, avoiding any potential trouble. I pulled out my lunch from my backpack, breaking my chopsticks in half before munching on my rice. A conversation slowly started to stir, everyone unsure of what to do. I rested my cheek in the palm of my hand, quietly listening in to the conversation. I scooped a chunk of rice with my chopsticks, placing it in my mouth. My eyes faltered to Taehyung and Miyeon, who haven't spoken to each other.
