"I'LL BE BACK in a couple of hours, okay? Call me if you need anything," My mom spoke, her pocketbook slung against her shoulder.
She stood in the doorway, all dressed up before she was off to work. I nodded in response, bidding her goodbye. I sighed, pulling the sheets off of my body, the cold air kissing the surface of my exposed skin. I managed to pull myself out of my bed, raking a hand through my messy hair. I decided to actually get out of bed and eat breakfast, only because my stomach was grumbling.
I walked out of my room, trudging down the stairs. My leg was perfectly functional now, which felt amazing. I could walk without a constant numbness in my ankle. I wished I had gone to school today since I was getting kind of bored at home. My mom sent Jaehyun to school, so I was all alone.
I reached the bottom of my stairs, making my way towards the kitchen. I plugged in the toaster, placing two slices of bread into the slits. On the countertop sat a plate of eggs that my mom left for me since she had made too much. I placed it in the microwave, pressing the button before letting it heat up. I walked towards the living room, turning on the television. I flickered through the channels, finding something to watch. The microwave went off, signaling that the eggs were done. I swiftly took it out, using a fork to take a bite. I took the toast out of the toaster, smearing a thin layer of butter on top before placing it on the living room table.
Ding!
I furrowed my eyebrows, my gaze instantly going to my phone. I picked it up, opening it before scrolling to the most recent message.
tae: are you home?
me: yeah. why?
tae: you'll see
The doorbell chimed throughout the house, the sudden sound alarming me. I walked out of the kitchen, making my way towards the front door. I turned the lock, pulling it open. On the other side stood Taehyung himself, a wide grin on his face.
I widened my eyes at the sight, "Taehyung? What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to visit," he spoke calmly, my eyes trailing down to the large plastic bag in his hand, which was filled with an assortment of snacks. "I brought food."
As tempting as the food looked, I crossed my arms over my chest, "You should be at school."
"I know but I don't wanna go," He whined, staring at me with doe eyes, in attempts to allow him to stay. "Can I stay?"
I groaned, falling for his charm, "Fine, you can stay. But once my dad comes home from work, you have to go back to school."
"Deal," He immediately responded, making his way into my house. I shut the door behind him as he took off his shoes. He walked into the living room, placing the snacks beside my breakfast.
