"I JUST DON'T know what to get him," Jieun sulked, her shoulders dropping as she rested her head on my shoulder.
I chuckled, looking down at her, "It doesn't have to be amazing. As long as it's meaningful, that's all that matters. Jimin will love anything you give him, trust me."
Jieun nodded, popping a carrot into her mouth. I felt my phone vibrate on the table, causing me to reach over and look through it. I opened my text messages, reading the first one I received.
tae: can you meet me by the bleachers for a minute? I need to tell you something
I furrowed my eyebrows at the text, confused as to why he needed me. I packed all my garbage into my brown paper bag, slowly standing up. Jieun removed her head from my shoulder, staring at me with curious eyes, "Where are you going?"
I grabbed my phone, glancing over at her and the others at our lunch table, "To go see Taehyung. Apparently he has to tell me something."
"Okay, see you later," Namjoon spoke, taking a sip of his iced tea. I smiled at them, throwing my garbage away before walking out of the cafeteria. With my phone held tightly in my hand, I quickly typed a reply back to him
me: sure, I'll be there in a few
I turned my phone off, turning down into another empty hallway. Most kids were either in class or at lunch, so the hallways were practically dead.
I pouted my lips as I walked, trying to figure out a reason as to why Taehyung would want to see me. It hadn't seemed like anything was bothering him recently, he looked fine. A deep pit formed in my gut, a feeling that made me want to hurl. For some reason, I had a bad feeling about what was going to happen. I always got this pit feeling whenever bad things happened, which I always thought was a way for my conscience to try and warn me.
I pushed open the door, reaching the back of the school. Our school's large baseball field stood ahead of me, not a soul in sight. The bright sun warmed my skin, spreading chills through my body. My eyes faltered towards the large, long blue bleachers. I took in a breath, walking towards them. I peeked my head around the back of the bleachers, furrowing my eyebrows at the empty space.
"Hello? Taehyung?" I called out, walking into the shade. I rested my hand on one of the poles that held it up, debating on if I should call him or not.
"Yoomi?"
My body jolted at the voice, my head turning around to confront the person. A few feet away from me stood Miyeon, a smile on her face as she stared at me. I looked around once more, confused as to why Taehyung was nowhere in sight.
"Miyeon? What are you doing here?" I spoke, worry filling in my chest.
She shrugged, walking closer to me, "No reason. Why are you here?"
