"SHE WHAT?" I widened my eyes at how loud Jieun shrieked, noticing how everyone turned over to look in our direction. I ran over to her, covering her mouth with my hand to avoid any more outbursts.
"Jieun! I told you not to freak out!" I shouted quietly, staring at her with wide eyes.
"Did she really say that to you?" Jungkook questioned, his tone becoming deeper. I was starting to regret telling the two of them about my conversation with Miyeon because whenever Jungkook's voice got deeper, it meant he was furious.
I sighed, removing my hand from Jieun's mouth, "Yeah, she did."
"That bitch," Jieun curled her hands into fists, balling them in anger as she turned to walk towards the cafeteria, "I'm going to kill her."
I reached out and grabbed Jieun's arm, pulling her back before she stormed off, "No, you can't."
"Why not?" Jungkook questioned, leaning his back against the locker beside mine.
Jieun turned towards me, "You can't let her walk over you, Yoomi. She may be Taehyung's girlfriend but that doesn't mean she has the right to threaten you like that. If she really loved him then she would trust him. We can't just-"
"I don't have a choice. If I do anything against her then she'll tell Taehyung I like him or ruin my friendship with him. She might even do both. I know I was just starting to try and get over him but I can't. Every time I try, it never works. If he finds out then I don't think that things can ever be normal again." I sighed in between my words, running my fingers through my hair. "Besides, she makes Taehyung happy. I see the way he looks at her, he's madly in love. I can't take that away from him."
I just couldn't get over him no matter what I did. If he ever found out the truth, it would ruin everything. We could never go back to being best friends. What I had with Taehyung now was enough and I wanted to avoid any chance that would jeopardize our friendship. Even though it hurt that he would never like me back, it would hurt even more if he wasn't my friend.
Jungkook was about to speak when the warning bell had gone off, meaning that we had to get to lunch. I shut my locker, swinging my bag over my shoulder. I glanced at the two of them, my voice softening as I spoke, "We have to go."
I walked around the two, making my way towards the cafeteria. Jungkook and Jieun trailed behind me, their footsteps soft as they walked. I stared down at my shoes, gripping the handle of my bag as I walked.
Our silence was unbearable, it ate away at my senses. I felt bad since they did have a point. I tried to push the uneasiness away from my head. The more I thought about it, the more it pained me. We entered the cafeteria, quickly spotting the table which accompanied our friends. We made our way over to the table, greeting the rest of our friends.
