epilogue

"YOOMI, HURRY UP! We're ten minutes late!"
"I'm coming!" I called out, stuffing my things into my bag. I glanced around my room, nodding once I reassured myself that I had everything.
I walked out of my room, shutting the door behind me. I ran down the stairs, an anxious Jieun watching me from the front door. I flashed her a sheepish smile before biding my parents' goodbye. The two of us made our way out of my house, walking down the sidewalk. Jieun laced her arm with mine, the two of us walking side by side.
"I can't believe you made me wait for you. You're never usually like this," Jieun complained, a pout forming on her lips.
I rolled my eyes at her, "Oh please. You're just complaining because you want to see Jimin."
"That is not true!" Jieun gawked at me, surprised I would even suggest that. I chuckled at her, knowing that she did want to see Jimin. I knew Jieun far too well.
My phone vibrated in my pocket causing me to use my other arm to pull it out. I opened my phone, checking the most recent message.
tae❤: where are you????
me: I'm on my way
tae❤: you better hurry. Yoongi's almost done with the food and Jin's been eyeing it for a while
me: if you let him lay a finger on any of yoongi's kabobs, I'll murder both of you
tae❤: rude :(
me: lmao, fine. I'll spare you and only kill jin :)
tae❤ yay. see you soon <3
Jieun poked her head over my shoulder, trying to look at my phone. She cooed once she saw his contact name, "oh, are you texting Taehyung?"
"It's none of your business," I playfully responded, grinning at her before putting my phone back in my bag.
She smirked at me, elbowing my side, "Don't act like you don't want to see your boyfriend either."
I simply rolled my eyes at Jieun's words before we enveloped into laughter. Taehyung and I started dating a little after our first date. We've been dating for almost four months now. School closed in early June, which meant that all of us were on summer vacation. This upcoming school year would be our last year of high school before all of us went our separate ways. Because Yoongi and Jin are the only seniors in our friend group, they have to leave for college at the end of summer. I was going to miss them, but they are moving on to better things, and I couldn't be any prouder of them.
It wasn't long before we reached Hoseok's house, the two of us walking along the side towards his backyard. Hoseok invited us all to his house for a pool/sleepover party - one of the many ways we celebrate Jin and Yoongi leaving. Every summer we host a pool party, but it's always at Hoseok's house because his backyard is definitely the coolest.
