Thud thud. Thud thud.
Maria's fingers twitched.
Where am I?
Thud thud. Thud thud.
Her eyelids twitched as if she was trying to open them, which she was.
Wake up...
Her eyes slowly opened, marking the beginning of Maria Elrose's second life. She saw the familiar ceiling of her room in the Phantomhive Manor.
I'm a demon.
As her brain started kickstarting she started moving her limbs, and after a few minutes she sat up.
Could Sebastian sense her movement? Would he come find her?
She had to take everything nice and easy, and slow. She slid off the bed into standing up, her legs nearly collapsing under the new weight that hadn't been there for the last... however long she was out. She slowly stretched, a lazy yawn leaving her lips. She moved over to the window step by step and peered out over the manor's garden. A flash of movement caught her eye and she frowned, her eyes focusing on what seemed to be the shape of a human before it disappeared.
Her eyes narrowed. Was there an intruder on the property? Why hadn't Sebastian noticed it yet?
Either way there was no way she was going to let someone potentially dangerous get near Ciel, and she wanted to discover her newfound demon powers. As she turned away from the window and headed out the door a bright flash illuminated itself in the garden. She didn't notice it.
She somehow made it out of the manor without detecting anyone, which was weird but she was too focused on the task at hand to notice.
Upon entering the garden, she was distracted from her mission by a familiar black horse.
"Rūshifa, how did you get out?" She said to the stallion, slowly walking forward. How would the horse react to her being a demon? As she approached Rūshifa backed away. She followed, determined to get the horse back where he belonged. The stallion managed to lead her all the way into the forest before she managed to grab a part of his long mane.
"Gotcha!" She cheered victoriously, but her triumph was cut short when a bright flash blinded her eyes. She turned away and covered her eyes to avoid the painful brightness, but she never let go of the horse's mane. What she didn't know was that the bright flash was coming from the horse she was holding onto.

Sebastian and Ciel were in Ciel's study, Sebastian cleaning and Ciel working. The butler had casually dusted and was now washing the windows when he saw the bright flash coming from within the trees. His eyes narrowed. An intruder?
He excused himself from Ciel's presence and as soon as the door was shut he was running at an inhuman speed towards the source of the light.
---------------------------
The light faded after a few moments, and Maria slowly opened her eyes and let them adjust to the dark, cool shade of the forest. She noticed that the hair she was holding onto had suddenly gotten softer and more fine. She whipped around to see what had happened.
A man was bowing before her, down on one knee. Her hand was holding onto his soft, curly, dirty blond hair. He looked up at her, an amused look in his remarkably light blue eyes.
Maria gasped and immediately let go of his hair, backing away to a safe distance.
"Who are y-you?" She tried to regain her composure as quickly as possible.
"Well, for a while you were calling me Rūshifa." The young man stood, shaking out his messed up hair a little.
"Your real name?" Maria demanded, still trying to accept that the horse she had ridden into town that one day had actually been this man.
"Castizel, at your service, kitten." He mock bowed with a smile crossing his undoubtedly handsome face.
Maria didn't know what to say, but luckily she didn't have to say anything as their party was crashed by a demon.
"Maria, I was unaware that you had returned." Sebastian stepped into the clearing, his reddish eyes taking in the scene.
"Yes, I was surprised you didn't notice me either." Her offhand comment revealed her slight hurt at the fact.
"Why don't we discuss this later? Ciel is in the manor, you should go see him." I'll take care of what's going on out here. Besides, Ciel is nearly driving himself insane.
"Oh? I've been forgotten!" Castizel re-entered the conversation by stepping closer to Maria and wrapping an arm around her waist before picking her up easily.
"What the-? Hey! Let go of me!" Maria struggled, but his arm was like an iron bar holding her in.
"No." He smirked, and Sebastian snarled.
"You can't leave yet, Kitten. The fun's only just started."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Maria mewled, still fighting to escape his grasp.
In a second she got her answer. Castizel flinched and she heard a cracking sound. A feather suddenly floated in front of her face. She managed to slowly twist to see dark gray wings protruding out of Castizel's back.
