Chapter Five
Sebastian ran to the stables to see which horse Maria had decided to take to town. He grew even more agitated when he discovered that it was Rushifā. In some sort of sick joke Ciel had bought the pretty much untameable stallion and named him after the greatest of all demons: Lucifer.
What if Maria had been thrown off and was lying broken somewhere on the side of the road? If someone else stopped and had bad intentions...
Growling, Sebastian started to run the route Maria would have taken to town. He promised himself no one would touch her, people or demons like Tristan alike. She could be alone, and cold. Rushifā could have thrown her and trampled her. The possibilities were endless.
As much as he was worried about Maria, he was also worried about his young master. Leaving him alone with William... he didn't trust the demon at all. If William did anything to Ciel by the time he got home...
He ran faster, a blur to human eyes.
Find Maria, then go kill William. This was all his fault after all. He briefly wondered how Maria would act when she found out that she was turning into a-
Sebastian was momentarily distracted by the sight of a black horse but upon speeding up to it he discovered that it was not Rushifā. The black horse was a mare, and the mare spooked and threw its rider as Sebastian sped past.
I'm coming, Maria.

"You have the answers I need." Maria set down her hot chocolate on the coffin she was currently sitting on. It wasn't a question, and she continued on as Undertaker smiled coyly at her.
"I shall ask you straight out, I presume they have discovered me to be missing by now. What am I 'turning into', as you said earlier today?"
"You don't know? I suppose Mr. William would want it to be a secret.. after all, he does believe that you are a reincarnation."
"Reincarnation? Of who?" Maria wasn't religious, she sold her soul and was going to hell, that was that. She never looked into reincarnation or being "born again" after that. She would be in Hell.
"He believes that you are a reincarnation of... his love."
Maria was getting impatient. "And who was his love?"
At that moment the door slammed open revealing a demon in a tailcoat. His sharp red-brown eyes took in the scene of the Lady: Wet hair sticking to her face and neck, and a too big dress on. She shivered slightly when she saw him. She was a mess, but he still saw her to be beautiful.
"I'm afraid that it is time to go, Lady Maria. You seem to be in a bit of trouble with my master." His eyes promised the fact that she was going to get an earful on the way home as well.
That was faster than I expected. "You can go prepare the horse I brought here, and I will be out there in a minute. Undertaker was about to tell me something important."
"The rain has stopped, Lady Elrose," Sebastian said with that fake smile of his, and his eyes said no arguments. "Won't you come out and enjoy it with me?"
Maria glared at him and he met her gaze evenly. If only he was William... I could command him to leave.
She managed to politely excuse herself from Undertaker's shop after thanking him for everything he had done for her. She had gotten a little more information than what she had before, now it was time to interrogate William about it.
"Let's hurry home, I need to speak to William." Maria said to Sebastian like she hadn't just scared Ciel and himself to death by riding away without telling them. She would get yelled at soon enough, by both him and the Earl.
