The next day Maria was very jumpy, so much so that even Ciel noticed. When she suddenly retired to her room claiming to be sick, Ciel bought it and returned to his work. However, Sebastian followed her back to her room suspiciously.

"What is it, Sebastian? I'm afraid I'm feeling unwell at the moment." Her voice was uptight and tense.

"You know Maria, you can either lie easily or you can't at all. That's what I've noticed about you." He said casually, preparing her nightclothes for her. Out of the corner of his eye he saw her tense up physically.

"What do you mean?"

Sebastian ignored her question. "And this is one of the times where you can't lie. At all."

"So? What's your point?"

"As supernatural, let alone eternal, beings we can't get sick." Sebastian turned to face her, and her face said busted loud and clear. When she didn't respond, he continued, "Now, I will let you take a 'sick' day for today I suppose. However, it does worry the young Master, but today should be an exception."

He laid her nightclothes on her bed. Now as they were equals he didn't need to take care of her, and he knew that she knew how to dress herself.

"Thanks." She said quietly, and he smiled at her somewhat evilly.

"Oh, but I have a price for your sick day. I get to ask you three questions, and you must answer truthfully."

"How is that fair?" Maria muttered, but nodded her head. Whatever it would take for her to be alone so she could try to sort her second life out.

"One: Castizel has been contacting you?" This was just to confirm his earlier recognition. He wasn't surprised when Maria nodded.

"Yeah." She didn't ellaborate.

"Two: Have you had any urge to go and be with him?"

"Not really, no. I was worried about it, but seeing as now there is nothing..."

"It will probably come very suddenly then."

"What can we do to stop it?"

Sebastian ignored her. "Three: Tell me everything that happened yesterday in town."

"That's not a question."

"And that's not a correct answer."

"I don't have to answer if it's not a question-"

"Dammit Maria just tell me! I'm trying to help you and you are being extremely difficult. It frustrates me to new amazing levels I haven't even experienced with the antics Ciel goes through yet. It's like you don't even want help to be separated from that monster-"

He stopped in shock as Maria lunged forward and wrapped her arms around him in a hug.

"M-Maria-" But she wasn't going to let him finish.

"I'm sorry Sebastian. I had no idea you felt that way. What you said is true, I suppose I have been trying to figure out what's going on by myself. Now I know that I can't solve this by myself. Thank you for your help."

She slowly released him and immediately turned away, her face redder than one of the perfectly grown roses in the garden. She had never seen Sebastian lose his cool like that before, and she acted without thinking.

They stood in a shocked, awkward silence for a few moments. Eventually Sebastian cleared his throat uncomfortably.

"So, will you tell me what happened yesterday now?"

Maria's mouth lifted into a smile as she turned to face him.

"Finally you asked me an actual question!" And she proceeded to tell him everything that had happened yesterday. By the end of her story he was in a rage again.

"From now on you will barely leave Ciel or I's sight, got it?"

"What's Ciel gonna do to stop him?"

"Scream for me, of course." He grinned lightly when he saw Maria smile at that. He walked over to her window and made sure it was locked.

"If you need anything, just call. If he tries to break in through the window I will hear it and come." He started towards the door.

"No."

He stopped in his tracks. "What?" He said, slowly turning to face her again.

"I said no."

"And why ever would you say that? Weren't you listening to me earlier? I want to help you."

"I only need advice and emotional support, Sebastian. You and I both know you can't take him on physically. If you die then who will be around to tend to Ciel?"

Sebastian was silent for a while before he spoke up, "You and I both know I can't just stand by and let him take you either, Maria."

And with that simple statement that had such a deeper meaning than that, Sebastian left the room.

Aw, isn't that cute. He wants to protect you.

King Castizel, Maria sighed wearily, she didn't want to deal with this now, to what do I owe the honor?

I just wanted to talk to my future queen but now it seems as if I will have someone to take care of when I come to visit.

You stay away from those two, this is between you and me, Cas.

She could hear him laughing.

Or what? You can never escape me.

Kill them and I'll make sure you can never have me by your side.

I got it, I got it. I won't harm a hair on their little heads dear.

She didn't trust that, but she couldn't worry about that now. You said you were coming to visit?

Miss me? He taunted, to which she inwardly snarled. Relax, Kitten. I just meant that I will not wait forever for you. I get what I want, even if I need to retrieve it myself.

I really hate you. She heard him chuckle in response.

Sleep tight my dear. I await the day that you call me Cas again, maybe face to face next time hm?

With that he was gone, and Maria was finally alone. She realized that she had indeed called him Cas and with a frustrated groan she flopped on her bed, closing her eyes and waiting for blessed sleep to take over. So much for sorting out her life, as if it could be sorted out in the first place.

Quick update before I go to sleep I guess! I tried to get a little more Maria and Sebastian (what's their ship name?) action in this one, since the last chapter was (insert Castizel and Maria's ship name here). Don't forget to vote if you like it! Bye! :)

None of my chapters are really "edited" I just kinda read over them quick, so point out any mistakes if you see one! Thanks!
