Maria choked on air, somehow. Who was this person? Seeing the wings was quite a shock, but the bigger shock was the tingly pain making itself known in the small of her back.

Right where wings would grow.

"Sebastian. Get me out of here immediately." She spoke as calmly as she could, but her voice trembled. Sebastian took a step forward and Castizel's arm tightened around her waist. She knew that something was very, very wrong.

This isn't part of being a demon. The tingle in her back had grown to the point where it was painful now.

"Sebastian!" She struggled around a little.

The demon seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. It couldn't be... Castizel couldn't be... and he was awakening Maria's wings.

"Look at my wings Kittten. It will speed up the process." Castizel crooned quietly and softly into her ear, and she snarled in response. That was a definite no.

Sebastian snapped out of it and ran forward suddenly then, taking Castizel off guard. All three of them fell to the ground, the jolt making Maria yelp as she landed on her back. She shakily crab-walked away until she was resting up against a tree.

Before she could even take a breath Sebastian was there scooping her up. He ran away for some reason, heading back to the manor. She looked over his shoulder to Castizel standing up, and vicious red showing in his eyes. What creature was he anyway? He mouthed one word and surprisingly she knew what he said, she could see even across the distance Sebastian had put between them. Her blood ran cold.

Soon.

He saw her expression and smirked before spreading his wings with a large whoosh sound. The force of his powerful wings made the branches of the trees around him whip wildly. With a strong downbeat of his dark grey wings with shot upward through the trees and she lost sight of him.

A few moments of running later, Sebastian emerged from the forest holding a sweating, trembling Maria. She immediately looked into the sky to see if Castizel was there ready to swoop down on them like a hawk.

Instead, they made it into the manor safely and Maria was again carried back up to her bedroom. The pain in her back was intensifying exponentially now, and she stifled a scream as Sebastian laid her on her bed on her stomach.

"If you don't mind Lady Maria." Sebastian didn't wait for an answer and ripped open the back of her dress.

"What's happening?" She had to stay calm, even if she was in pain and confused.

"I'll make it brief, Maria. Turns out you came back as a-" he paused nervously, "fallen angel."

"A what?!"

"Seeing another one of their own kind's wings awakens their own once they return. In your case, it seemed Castizel somehow knew you would become a fallen angel and disguised himself as Rūshifa so he could awaken your wings."

Maria opened her mouth but instead of speaking she cried out in pain, her fists clenched around the sheets.

"It will hurt a bit the first time." Sebastian spoke, and her teeth gritted as she responded, "You don't say?"

Suddenly Ciel burst through the door. "What in the hell are you doi-"

His breath caught when he saw Maria and he stopped talking immediately.

"She's returned, but not as a demon." Sebastian stated matter-of-factly. He started to explain to Ciel about what she was and what was happening. Maria couldn't listen, she was focused on the pain, or rather the pain made her focus on it.
