Maria sat at the long dining table eating brunch. Whatever Sebastian had made it was delicious, but she couldn't fully enjoy the taste. Her brain had absorbed a lot of information from this morning, and she currently tried to sort it all out.

What interested her the most was the fact that she would have a few of both angelic and demonic powers. She really wanted to know what she could do, but... her wings bumped the back of the chair when she shifted in her seat as a reminder. She had to learn how to fly first. Well, she didn't have to, she wanted to. Sebastian also seemed uneasy about talking about her powers, anyway. Maybe it was because she might be stronger than him? She quickly scolded herself, knowing she would never be as strong as Sebastian no matter what he said about the Fallen.

Castizel hadn't said anything at all today, which was unusual. According to Sebastian his notoriety had gained him the spot of King of the Fallen, which explained his enormous wings. Maybe now he would leave her alone and attend to his Kingly duties.

Every King needs a Queen. He spoke up suddenly, making her jump. She had spoken too soon.

Leave me alone. She responded despondently, and with a chuckle he fell silent.

After she finished eating she went to find Ciel. As she walked through the halls heading to his study she ran into Finny.

"Hiya Miss.... Maria?" He was staring at her wings in confusion, maybe a little bit of grossed-out laced in his gaze. Her wings still looked disgusting. Her brain scrambled to think up an excuse.

Suddenly Sebastian was there swooping in to the rescue. "Miss Maria, I was not done with your wings yet, and I still need to finish the gown. This masquerade ball will take up a troubling amount of my time."

Finny's eyes widened in understanding. "A masquerade ball? Have fun, whenever it is!" With a friendly wave of goodbye he dashed past them, heading outside. He was probably afraid that Sebastian would "kindly remind" him of his duties in the garden.

"That was close." Maria whispered after he was gone.

"Yes, you're lucky I was passing by and heard voices." She had forgotten yet again that he couldn't sense her. It felt dangerous and special at the same time.

They both walked on to Ciel's study. She wanted to spend more time with him because according to Sebastian he had gone through a lot while she had been in the resurrection process. It made her feel bad, so she hoped spending time with him would help him forgive her.

They played a couple long games of chess and before they could start another Ciel suddenly proposed that they go to town.

"But my wings?" She glanced at them, noticing the down feathers nearly covered the entirety of each wing. All that had to grow now was the contour feathers.

"Well, there are a layer of feathers over them now, so can you fold them in or something?"

Maria tried, and failed. "I don't know how."

Ciel called Sebastian as she tried again. The butler entered and gave her a few tips, with no avail. Ciel and Sebastian discussed what they should do, after all she had to fold her wings in sooner or later.

Just imagine them folding onto your back and flex the wings a little. Of course Castizel was there, watching her every move.

Don't you have somewhere better to be, your Majesty. Maria flatly returned, but experimentally tried to do what he said. She flexed the wings and they twitched, and she imagined them folding against her back neatly. Her eyes were closed, but she could feel her wings moving.
