This is a short chapter that occurred after the burning of Castizel and his manor. Ciel, Sebastian, and Maria are heading to the place where Ciel and Sebastian had been staying the past three years. Enjoy!
The rattling of the carriage woke Maria from her deep slumber. Usually demons didn't sleep, but her body was already in recuperation mode. Neither Sebastian nor Ciel would probably let her do much for the next week or so.
"I can't believe it's finally over." She murmured, more to herself, but the other two demons heard her with their sensitive hearing.
"Both Ciel and I were very close to giving up hope." Sebastian admitted, almost sounding guilty or ashamed.
"You two searched for three years, it's understandable that you would be losing faith." Maria comforted him instantly. A sudden thought popped into her head then.
"Well, how did you guys find me then?"
Ciel looked to Sebastian - he hadn't said much the entire ride - and Sebastian answered her.
"We were actually following a lead, but as it turns out we were farther away from you than ever. You must imagine our surprise when a Fallen approached us with information."
"A Fallen?" Maria interrupted, curiosity piqued. The only Fallen angels she knew where Castizel, Ronan, Samuel, and...
Zeke.
"When he was gone for that six months," she realized aloud, "he went and found you."
"He was tired of seeing you constantly suffer under Castizel. After he forced you to submit to him that must have been the last straw for him."
Maria glanced out the window of the carriage.
Thank you, Zeke.
"Where are we going now?"
"Back to the small home we have rented for the past three years." Ciel finally spoke up.
"But... What about the manor?"
The two exchanged a look before Ciel launched into a story that took hours to complete, a story of all the events that had happened to him after Maria was taken.
"I'm just happy you're alive." Maria said with a smile.
When they finally reached the little home in a very urban city, Maria fell in love with the house at first sight.
"This is perfect." She whispered, and Sebastian smiled fondly at her as Ciel impatiently waited for her to hurry up so he could give her a tour of the place.
Maria couldn't be happier as she followed Ciel and Sebastian into their new home.
So now you know how they found Maria and lived happily ever after! :)
