Harry is a very persuasive person. He has this way about him that just makes you feel inclined to do whatever he asks you to. But, over the last few years I've been able to pick up on his little tricks. That's why as I laid on my stomach on top of my bed - my recently adopted cat, Lily, and my dog, Sandy, laying next to me - I knew Harry was up to something when he waltzed into the room with this all-too-innocent smile on his face.
"Are you reading to them?" He drops his body onto the bed next to me, startling Lily for a second before she jumps onto his lap. His arrival also chases Sandy out the room entirely, which makes Harry frown because my dog doesn't seem too fond of him as of late, for reasons I won't ever know.
"Maybe I was and now you're interrupting me. What would you like, Harold?"
"I love you," he says and it causes me to shut my book while I watch him carefully. My eyes glance at his hand stroking Lily's back.
"What did you do?" I tentatively ask.
"Angel," he continues to ignore my questions.
"Harry," I simply call his name in return.
"Baby." Oh, he did something bad didn't he?
"Edward," I use his middle name next.
"Love of my life."
"Styles..." I eye his features but the only tell that something is up is that same too-innocent smile. "Spit it out, right now." I ask again, "What did you do?"
"I haven't done anything!" he says way too quickly and way too defensive. I give him a look and he drops the facade. "Yet."
"There it is." I sit up from my stomach and shift around until I'm leaning against my headboard, next to him.
"Okay, so here's the thing," he begins to say, trying to be all serious but I can see the corners of his lips twitching. "I slept with someone else, got her knocked up and I need to flee to Romania before this gets out and ruins my reputation."
"Ha-ha." I dryly laugh, taking the book and hitting the top of his head with the spine.
"Ow!" He takes the book away from me and puts it on the other side of him. All the movement seems to disrupt Lily's peace, so she jumps all the way from Harry's lap to the floor with a soft thud, leaving to explore elsewhere in the house. "Fine, I'll tell you, but you aren't going to like it."
"Now, you're making me nervous." I sit up straighter.
He gives me an airy laugh and takes both of my hands in his. "Alright here goes," he gets ready to rip the bandaid off. "I'm cutting my hair.
