(i forgot to put this in at the end of last chapter so here we are)
January 31st 2019
Hayley's POV:
I forgot how much I actually hated my birthday - except during the few years Harry and I were together. I did enjoy my birthday then. I'm starting to think maybe it wasn't a coincidence...and the way my heart beats just a little faster when Harry finally decides to show up only further proves my theory.
Kendall and Emma threw a party for me at the house. Jacques, who has been living with Em and I the last month while he's in America, got me out of the house at a convenient time in the middle of the day and didn't bring me back until six in the evening. I knew something was up when he encouraged me to go out into the backyard. That's where everything's been set up.
For the last half hour I've been standing by myself with a drink in my hand, observing. I'll just go ahead and list everyone who's here: Kendall, Emma, and Jacques - obviously - Chelsea, Melissa, Sasha - my three closest friends from the salon - plus Melissa's fiancé and Sasha's girlfriend. Maria is here as well, having been flown in as a surprise present from Kendall. Lastly, there's Luke and Ashton - the other two sauces have the flu, I've been told - and of course Mister Harry Styles. I'm glad they kept this on the smaller side with all of the people I'm closest to in the Los Angeles area, Maria being the outsider to that.
I'm only reminded of why I hate my birthday because of how anxious I've been all day. I knew Emma was up to something when she got Jacques in on it. I was only suspicious because from the entire month Jacques has spent in LA, ninety percent of it has been taken up by us fighting. Our most recent one took place yesterday and it was...awful doesn't begin to describe it.
"I don't understand you!" Jacques screams at me and I get out of bed to grab my shirt.
"Me? You don't understand me? What don't you understand about me?"
