Noah's POV
Fairchild residence

Ever since that day at the hospital I can't get Jack out of my mind and it's starting to bother me, I can't like my best friend, it won't work. I started distancing myself by stay in my room and keeping it locked because Jack tends to just come in.
They're starting to notice somethings wrong so I can't keep doing this but I also can't see him anymore, it'll just make everything worse.
It's been like this for about two weeks and everyone's been trying to get me out of my room.

A week ago:

"Noah you've been in your room for a week. Get out!" Y/n yelled from the other side of the door

"Go away!"

3 days ago:

"Noah just come out! What's wrong with you?!" Jack said

"Nothing, go away!"

Yesterday:

"Noah, dude. Just fucking let me in." Miles knocked on the door

"No Miles! Why can't you gets just leave me alone?"

"Because. Now fucking open the door before I break it in." He threatened

I sighed and got up and opened the door seeing Miles with Nell on his hip laying on his shoulder

"I opened the door now leave." I tried to close the door before he put his foot in front of it so I couldn't

I sighed in frustration and flipped down on my bed

Miles shut the door and locked it, he put down Nell and sat on the edge of my bed

"What the hells wrong, you're never like this?" He asked calmly

"Maybe I've changed." I shrugged

"No tell me what's wrong because you're not like this for no reason."

"Miles just get out."

"Last time I checked it's my house."

"Leave."

"No."

I'm not leaving until you tell me what's wrong."

"It's not important." I rolled my eyes at his persistence

"When somethings wrong you always try to laugh about it but now you're just-just like this." He motioned

"It. Doesn't. Matter."

"Obviously it does."

"It's really non of your business."

"Stop dodging the question." He sighed

"Fine, but don't tell anyone please. It's the only thing I want." I begged

"Promise."

"Ok. It's about Jack." He nodded as I prepared to tell him

"I-I like him." I confessed, breaking down

He was speechless

"I know I shouldn't it's just that I kinda just realized after all these years of knowing him. I don't know why or how this happened but It-it just did."

"Noah, it's not your fault. It's fine. You can't help it." He reassured

"But I can't because he won't feel the same and I can't like my best friend."

"Calm down, we'll figure it out."

I took a deep breath and tried to calm down

"Just come out of your room to eat with us, we just made dinner." He said

"I can't."

"Yes you can. And you're going to." He pushed me out the door and grabbed Nell

"Sit down." He instructed once we got to the table

Y/n and Flora were already there but my eyes drew to once person, Jack.

I sat down nervously in the one seat that of course has to be next to Jack, everybody looked at me because they haven't seen me in awhile, I would only come out at like 4 am to go to the bathroom and get food so they really haven't seen me.

We sat in silence, I could feel their stares on me but I just kept my head down the whole dinner.

"Noah wanna switch seats with Flora?" Miles suggested and I nodded

"Flora, Noah hurt his foot and needs to be closer to the kitchen. Can you switch please?" Miles made up a horrible excuse but I went along with it, she nodded so we both switched places, me 'limping'

Y/n gave me a look of confusion but soon dropped it.

After awhile everyone was done so I hurried to go back to my room.

"Are you good?" Jack asked at the end of the hall

"Y-yeah." I said and quickly opened and shut my door

Miles' POV

Y/n was cleaning up so I went to go help her

"So what'd Noah say?" She asked

I promised to not tell anyone so I had to keep that promise, even if it was with the one person I tell everything to

"Um...He just said he hasn't felt good and stayed away, but I don't really know." I made a bad lie

"He's lying but I guess I'll just leave him alone, but if this lasts much longer than I'm gonna say something." She replied

"I think it's just all the stress of moving." I said remember that him and Jack were still in the process of moving, into the backyard.

"Maybe." She sighed and continued what she was doing in the first place

"I'm gonna go put the baby to bed." I replied and went upstairs with Nell
