47. Silence is Not So Golden

"No, they are not up to the mark. Ikigai Tech means trust and reliability. I won't care if we don't launch it on the aforesaid date, I want the end product perfect," I warned them.

"We are sorry Mr.Kohli" they looked down.

"You should be, but not for committing mistakes. For not being team players, we can never achieve anything if we don't work collectively as a team respecting one another's ideas. If you have problems with the ideas you should sort that collectively or reach to HR or seniors but not increase your egos and screw the project. I vouch for my employee's peace and happiness, don't hamper it. All of you are talented enough, remember that no one is superior nor anyone is inferior. This is the reason I never believe in the tags. Now be what you are and start afresh, I know my people can do it. I don't want any mistakes," I cautioned them.

"Sorry for letting you down Mr.Kohli, we will surely work on ourselves and the project too. Thank you for still trusting in us" the team lead smiled at me.

"Oh come on, you are my people. Now get back to work" I encouraged them.

"Mr.Armaan Kohli, I am resigning from this job" Rhea sighed entering my room.

"Do you have any idea how many calls I am receiving about your birthday celebrations? I can't answer their never ending questions. How should I answer them that this man never has a thing for the special day?" Rhea smacked her head.

I know how everyone is eating her brain about my birthday, they have their benefits in celebrating it, but as always I am not at all interested.

"Rhea, every day is special to me. Every day gives us an opportunity to live and achieve, I don't feel my birthday is any special and you know that day is only to remind me that I am aging. I don't have a special interest in them. Please make everyone understand and turning 25 is no big deal, everyone does that. Make sure no one in the office or from outside plan any surprise or anything, not interested in such stuff," I requested her.

Making sure no one is waiting outside my door, she smacked my head before leaving. I chuckled at her.

I have no idea about my birthday celebrations as a child but once I was thrown out of the house, that date is only useful to write exams, get certificates and attain rights. As a child, I used to feel bad but with the growing age I almost forgot it. Only after Ikigai started running in profits, people wanted to celebrate that day.

I politely rejected the felicitations and parties. I warned Kunal not to plan any surprises. When it became hard for me to answer questions I pushed the burden on Rhea, poor her.
