Hermione's Girl Crush

Part 17: Forbidden Forest

Hermione ran down the path after Lilith. The sun was setting and everything was becoming quite dark. She tried to run as fast as she can to catch up with Lilith and not get lost in the dark.

She sprinted down the path into the woods. She tore through the trees and any brush that was in her way as she chased after Lilith. As she ran through the forest she tried to remember which turns she had taken but quickly forgot.

The forest around her blurred and she swung her head around looking for the path. Her breath became heavier as she stood in the ink-black forest alone. She pulled out her wand and quickly cast the Lumos charm and tried to calm herself. When the end of her want illuminated with light all she could see were trees. She called out hesitantly,

"Lilith?" she waited and didn't hear any response so she called out again, this time much louder, "Lilith?" she waited again, listened to the forest around her for any sign of movement when she heard a rustling behind a tree.

she turned immediately pointing her want towards the tree in question, she spoke softer as she questioned,

"Lilith?" As soon as she spoke a creature pounced toward her. Hermione screamed as it knocked her to the ground. She began to wrestle around the creature as to stay away from its grasp. Her wand flung out of her hand and into a small area of brush.

Hermione tried desperately to wrestle against this creature, but it seemed to be much too strong for her to beat. She fought for as long as she could but was soon becoming fatigued. She started to accept the fact that she may never leave this forest again.

Hermione heard a mutter of an incantation and the creature flew off of her landing on the ground away from her paralyzed. Hermione sat up and turned to see Lilith gripping her wand,

"Hermione?" Lilith rushed over to Hermione to help her up, "What are you doing out here?" As she helped to lift Hermione she winced in pain,

"You're hurt." Hermione felt Lilith's shoulder, it was soaking wet with a large slice through her skin,

"Never mind me. what are you doing out here?" Lilith questioned,

"I could ask the same of you," Hermione spoke proudly with a worried tone beneath her words,

"Hermione," Lilith looked into Hermione's eyes, she had an expression of true concern, "I am not joking around. Now, why are you here?" Her words were harsh as she looked at Hermione.

Hermione paused, thinking, "I..." She stammered, Lilith interrupted her stammering,

"where is your wand?" She looked to Hermione' hands where she would be holding her wand but was instead empty-handed,

"it..." Hermione struggled to finish her sentences she was afraid. She gestured over to where she had been wrestling with the creature which not that she looked at it seemed to just be a wolf.

Lilith looked around quickly, digging through brush all around and looking around trees. She finally found the wand and tossed it to Hermione,

"What's going-" Hermione tried to speak but Lilith cut her off,

"You'll find out soon enough." Is all Lilith said as she reached for Hermione and began to lead her back to Hogwarts.
