Hermione's eyes fluttered open. The dark sky splattered with stars still present. The silver moonlight shone through the tall windows. It cascaded across the bed illuminating the now asleep Lilith.

Her soft breath against Hermione's skin. She took a moment to study the witch by her side. The slow rise and fall of her chest. The perfectly chiseled silhouette of her face. She couldn't stop the small smile that spread across her face.

She sat up, careful not to wake Lilith. Peering around the room to see that Ginny had not returned. A soft chuckle left Hermione as she thought about where her roommate could be.

Hermione looked once again at the cozy Lilith, curled up in her blankets. Hermione swung her legs over the side of her bed and took a breath before standing, the old wooden floor groaning beneath her feet.

Carefully she walked towards the bathroom trying to avoid the squeaky floor boards. When she reached the bathroom she simply looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair frizzed and tangled. The light from the moon made her face just barely visible. A smile plastered on her lips. She sighed a warm sigh and ran the water.

She cupped her hands beneath feeing it's frigid temperature grow warmer. She leaned her face over the sink and splashed the water across it. The just colder than lukewarm water shocking her a bit. She paused for a second before doing it once more.

After splashing the water across her face she place her hands on each side of the sink and looked up at herself. Water beaded on her face and rolled down towards her neck. A soft giggle fell out of her lips,

"What just happened?" She asked herself in a hushed whisper. Imaging the time she spent with Lilith just an hour or two ago. Another giggle. She couldn't help it.

"What is happening?" She questioned again. Puzzling what has lead her to this moment.

"Who am I?" she questioned once more as she thought of the way she acts around Lilith. She thought of how confident yet terrified she makes her feel. Thought about how in this moment time has seemed to stop. She turned her head peering out the door to the bathroom to see Lilith squirming slightly in her sleep. Hermione took one more breath, holding it a moment before exhaling and returning to her bed.

As she carefully slipped into the bed, lifting the covers ever so slightly she heard the rusting of fabric. Lilith turned to face Hermione, eyes heavy with sleep.

"Where'd you go?" Her voice impossibly deep and barley a whisper. She reached an arm out motioning for Hermione to come closer. Hermione snuggled into her bed wiggling closer to Lilith.

Lilith wrapped her arm around Hermione squeezing tight for a moment before releasing. Hermione pressed herself into Lilith. She felt the taller witch's body relax into hers. Her head resting against Lilith's chest she could hear the steady thump of her heart. And Hermione's eyes fluttered shut once more.
