Hermione joined her friends at a table in the Three Broomsticks. The tavern seemed to be rowdier than usual with a younger woman who looked quite small played a fiddle off in the corner. Someone came over to take an order of drinks from the group,

"We'll have a round of Butter Beers," Harry told the older man as he took a seat at the table. Hermione had a warm smile on her face as she chatted with her friends. Not too long after they had sat down did the drinks arrive at their table.

The large goblets were filled with butterbeer, they all reached for their goblets and knocked them together,

"Cheers!" they all called out and took a big swig slamming their goblets on the table once they finished.

The music in the tavern quickly picked up to an upbeat pace. People all around began to dance, One by one all of Hermione's friends jumped up with a partner and began to dance. Ginny and luna, Seamus and dean, Ron and Harry, Neville found a girl who looked like she lived in the woods.

Hermione laughed as she watched the festivities drinking her butterbeer alone at the table when someone maybe just a few years older than her reached out their hand. They looked straight out of a fantasy novel, dressed in a shirt that looked it belonged to a pirate with a captains hat and all,

"You seem like you could use a dance," They offered a hand to Hermione, their voice was like whiskey, Hermione just gave a stunned smile and grabbed their hand. They pulled Hermione up into the dance.

Of they went in a fast-paced but quite graceful dance. Hermione couldn't take her eyes off the person she danced with. Their face was built with sharp features. Thick dark eyebrows that even in a happy expression tilted slightly downward. They had one eye that was a gold-like color and the other had a scar slashing through it blinding it entirely.

Once the song had ended and everyone made their way back to their seats, clapping. The young woman who was playing the fiddle announced she would be back after a short break and everyone went back to their drinks and food,

"you are quite the dancer," The person Hermione danced with spoke with a bow as they kissed Hermione's hand,

"Thank you, I could say the same to you," Hermione let out a little chuckle at the gesture and quickly looked back to her friends to see them all laughing hysterically at the table,

"I will let you go back to your friends it was lovely to meet you..." They trailed off waiting for Hermione to introduce herself,

"Hermione and you are,"

"Captain Thayer, but you can just call me Thayer," and with a smile, Thayer had left back to their table.

Hermione let out a heavy sigh and walked towards the bar,

"could I just get water?" Hermione leaned over the bar slightly as she ordered, the bartender gave her a little nod as she leaned back she let out a little sigh,

"I know the feeling," A slightly nasally voice came from Hermione's right she turned to see the small woman who was playing the fiddle from earlier sat on one of the stools, she held a goblet in her hand that was much larger than her head,

"I'm sorry who are you?" Hermione questioned,

"Right," The woman produced a hand that was much smaller than Hermione's, "Coraline, I play here on occasion," A smile spread across her face. Hermione returned the smile,

"And what feeling is it that you know?" Hermione questioned as she picked up her glass of water that now sat on the ar in front of her,

"I just watched you dance your heart out there with that lovely looking person, and all you have to say about it is a sigh, you are having troubles with love."

Hermione looked at Coraline with a feigned look of confusion and deflected,

"I am not,"

"If you say so," Coraline turned back to face the bar and took a swig from her drink, Hermione grabbed her water and left.

When Hermione returned to all her friends they let out a big cheer,

"Where did you run off to?" Ron asked as she sat down,

"I just needed water after all that dancing," She replied with a smile. Once seated she looked around to notice Neville wasn't at the table, "Where's Neville?"

"Oh he ran off with that nice girl he danced with, what was her name again," Ginny started,

"It was something like Fawn or-" Seamus piped up,

"Oh yeah, Fawn!" Ginny continued, "She was real nice, she lives in some nearby forest in a cottage, grows a lot of plants,"

"So the perfect girl for Neville," Hermione said with a little laugh. The rest of the table laughed in agreement.

Hermione and her friends continued to chat in the three broomsticks for a long while. They continued to refill their butterbeer and drink on. Eventually coralline returned to playing her Fiddle and gave Hermione a smile when she began to play.

Eventually, they all found it was time to leave and when they did they ran around the town laughing and enjoying the time they were spending with each other. They went to the many shops and walked around the village. They ran into other friends even meeting up with Neville and Fawn again.

Eventually, the sun began to set and the group began to thin as one by one they went back to the castle. Hermione Ron and Harry were the only ones left sitting on a bench just as the sun was setting,

"We should head back soon," Harry said, his voice sounded tired as he leaned back on the bench,

"Yeah," Ron replied with a sigh he had a smile across his face as he too leaned back on the bench,

"You two can head back if you'd like, I'll be right behind" Hermione sat up straight and looked to the two completely exhausted boys

"Are you sure?" Harry asked,

"Of course, I just wanted to watch the sunset, I will be right behind you." Hermione smiled as she looked between the two of them. And at her words, they stood from the bench and started to slump their way back to the castle. Hermione giggled as she watched their tired bodies move up the path.

She let out another sigh and finally leaned back on the bench. Just as she began to relax, as the sun had now fallen beyond the horizon and the moon now lit the sky she heard a very familiar voice behind her,

"Hermione, I need your help."
