The sun began to set over hogsmede. The golden light shone through the windows of the tavern. Inside the bustling noise of students laughing and chatting. The air warm and full with the scent of ale. A small group of people play instruments in the corner of the room. Hermione set next to Lilith in a booth. She clung to the strong girls arm laughing hysterically with her friends. Lilith's eyes were fixed on Hermione.

"And I stood there, my trousers on the floor and her ROOMMATE WALKS IN!" Seamus recounted with hilarity and embarrassment. The table erupted in laughter. Hermione spit her butter beer across the table. Quickly she hid her laughter in Lilith's shoulder.

Lilith couldn't help but chuckle at Hermione, the way she tucked herself into Lilith so easily, she found it endearing.

The conversation between Hermione's friends continued, but Lilith and Hermione stayed quiet. Lilith held Hermione close as she turned to the table, she grabbed the large pint of butter beer and took a large swig.

"So Lilith," Harry spoke turning to face the tall witch, his face reddened slightly, "what's your story?" He gestured with his hand holding his goblet. Lilith was taken aback a bit, she adjusted her posture and responded,

"Well, what would you like to know," She gave her charming smile looking at Harry. Hermione just watched Lilith with a smile and blushed cheeks,

"Where's the accent from?" Ron asked through a mouthful of bread. Lilith looked to Hermione then spoke,

"Oh, I'm from a small country off the coast of France, Trepassi. Most people haven't really heard of it, we're rather small and strictly magical there," she paused to take a sip of butter beer, "the language (and accent) come from the German and Italian immigrant witches and wizards mixing with the existing French ones," she grabbed a piece of bread from a basket, finishing her story by biting into it.

Hermione pulled back from Lilith,

"Really? I Didn't know that," she paused processing the information, "that's really cool." Lilith smiled at the comment and drank more butter beer.

"So have you always been playing quidditch?" Harry added,

"I've watched it all my life, but never played until I got to Hogwarts," she responded cheerfully,

"Why did you come to Hogwarts instead of Bauxbatons?" Ron asked,

"Oh the French wizards hate the Trepassians," Lilith added nonchalantly,

"Why?" Ron chuckled in response as he drank from his tankard,

"Now's not the time to get into it," Lilith dismissed. She dropped her arm around Hermione and quickly tried to change the conversation. Hermione looked up to Lilith and quickly blurted,

"So who's everyone going to the ball with?" She smiled leaning forward listening intently to her friends. The conversation quickly turned casual and the rest of the night went by in a blur.

The sun had long been set and Hermione clung to Lilith as they made their way back to Hogwarts. Their friends had mostly coupled up with closer friends or partners as they let distance get between them. Hermione looked up to Lilith,

"You played really well today," she had a soft smile on her face, her heart beating wildly as she stared at the taller witch,

"Thank you, having you cheering me on made it all the better," Hermione could feel Lilith's heart fluttering against her chest. They continued to walk together in pleasant silence. Wide smiles on their faces holding onto each other.

When they arrived in the castle Lilith walked Hermione to the Gryffindor common room. Hermione turned away from the portrait entrance,

"Thank you for walking me back," she held Lilith's hands,

"The pleasure was mine," Lilith responded. They did not move, Hermione was transfixed by Lilith's eye contact, the two stared at each other. After a long moment Lilith continued, "I believe this is when I leave," she squeezed Hermione's hands,

"Without a good night kiss?!" Hermione teased,

"Who said that?" Lilith returned gently pulling Hermione closer to her. They leaned forward and shared a sweet soft passionate kiss. When she pulled away Hermione's cheeks were hot and red, she gripped Lilith's wrists,

"Nobody said you had to leave," she took a few steps backward pulling Lilith with her,

"And what might you be suggesting?" Lilith teased following Hermione,

"I think you know," Hermione looked at Lilith,

"I think you need to articulate what it is you want from me," Lilith moved closer to Hermione closing the gap between them. She gripped Hermione's wrists. Hermione tried to respond but was too flustered for words, "come now, What do you want?" Lilith pressed Hermione against the back wall. She brushed a finger under Hermione's chin gently guiding it up to look at her,

"Kiss me." Hermione finally formed words,

"As you wish," Lilith added as she leaned down kissing Hermione with passion. The two quickly became more passionate and Hermione brought Lilith into the common room and up to her bedroom.

Hermione fell back on her bed, Lilith followed. The moonlight shone through the window shining across Hermione's bed illuminating the two witches infatuated with each other.
