The dinner time crowd had thinned out
The café was almost bare
Ron slowly swept the floor
Gyn cleared out the kitchenware.

"How's your Ma doing?
When's Claire joining school?"
Ron stopped sweeping
And sat on a stool.
"Ma says if they're not back soon
I'll have to go stay at Tent city
It ain't fair, I ain't going
They'd better get here quickly!"
A couple at the next table whispered
And gave them a disgusted look
"I am glad we don't have children"
"Hush, Wilma! Don't be a fool."
Gyn patted Ron's shoulder
And sat opposite to him
"They'll be here soon, cheer up!
Jhonny's back" She said with a grin.

"I saw Jhonny and Josie at the hotel
They were talking about a secret."
Ron sighed "You think they've run away?
I wouldn't have told; I would have kept it."
"What!" Gyn yelled
She shot off her chair
