The sun hit Jacob's eyes.

He opened them with a groan.

Realized he wasn't home.

Looked around and saw Mary Sue.

"I was starting to get worried about you.

You slept like the dead Jake."

My how his head did ache.

He sat up his back against the bed,

and clutched his head.

His stomach churned.

"Perhaps you should see that doctor now," said Mary Sue,

"I can fetch him for you."

Jake shook his head,

"I just need some coffee and needle and thread."

Mary Sue huffed,

"You are one of the most stubborn men I've ever met!"

He managed a crooked smile,

"You ain't seen nothing yet."

Mary Sue went to the pitcher and poured him a glass.

He stood up with a grunt and waited for the dizziness to pass.

"What time is it anyway?"

"You slept half the day away."
