𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐍𝐄𝐓, ᵗʰᵉ ᵛᵃᵐᵖⁱʳᵉ ᵈⁱᵃʳⁱᵉˢ

-𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵

𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐨

morning came introducing a new day to the town of mystic falls.

at the dawson household, phoebe was wide awake lying in bed, suddenly feeling a good change in the air like something or someone caused it.

to her, it was an opportunity to take this change and embrace it.

like bonnie said,'no more sad and dark times'.

so phoebe happily drew back her covers and exited the warmness of her bed, making her way to the bathroom to take a shower, etc, etc.

after said shower, the teen walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body, moving towards the closet to pick out an outfit that says, today is gonna be great!

the girl found said outfit five minutes later.

it consisting of a black and yellow long-sleeve shirt with a black leather jacket to cover, black jeans and black bootie heels.

phoebe got dressed quicker than usual, grabbed her stuff and headed out.

the teen was met in the hallway by a very serious vanessa dawson.

phoebe read the furious expression on her mother's face, assuming she heard about what happened at the bonfire last night with vicki.

and since she knows how protective her mom is over her, she at least tried to play it off,"oh, good morning, mom. how are you doing today?'' she nonchalantly asked her mother crossing her arms over her chest with an innocent smile on her lips.

''uh-huh don't get cute with me, phoebe gabriella dawson. what happened at that party last night?"

phoebe knew it was really serious when vanessa used her full name out of context like that so she decided to drop the act,"vicki donovan was attacked by some animal?'' she questioned her daughter as the once serious expression softened into a concerned one.

''yes, mom, vicki was attacked but she's okay now. she's in the hospital. she's gonna be fine. calm downs '' phoebe told her moving closer to her mother, placing her hands on her shoulders hoping it'll calm down her nerves.

vanessa let out a breath of relief,"oh, okay that's good. and how are you? you okay?"

phoebe let out a sigh, retracting her hands letting them fall to her sides,''a little shaken, but i'll live'' she nodded with a shrug.

''are you sure?''

''yeah, mom. i'm fine" the teen assured her," i gotta go. i'm meeting the girls at school and then we're going to the grill. i love you and i'll call you later'' she said embracing her mother in a hug.

''okay" vanessa nodded releasing a sigh, unsure, holding the teen close to her not ever wanting to let her go,"love you too''.

"okay, mom. you're gonna have to let me go eventually" phoebe told the over concerned woman  patting her softly on the back after noticing she was still hugging her.

"right" vanessa cleared her throat and pulled back from the teen,"okay. please be safe" she said pushing a strand of hair out of the girl's face and behind her ear.

"always" phoebe's lips twitched up into a soft smile, "alright, i gotta go, mom, i'll call you later. i promise" she reassured turning to walk down the stairs to the front door.

she unlocked and opened door ready to step out but before, she turned and waved bye to her mom.

vanessa waved back and sent her daughter a smile before she disappeared outside and the woman's expression only deepened with concern for her daughter or more specifically—what could hurt her.
