𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐯𝐞

once at the station, logan showed elena and phoebe to the tech room,''you can pull up all the remote footage right up on screen'' he turned back to the two girls, opening the door,''what is it exactly you're looking for?'' he questioned as he and the girls entered the room.

''an incident from 1953, if it even happened--at the old salvatore boarding house'' elena answered for her and phoebe, sitting down in the chair in front of the computer whilst phoebe stood next to her.

''sorry, one second'' logan excuse himself to answer his ringing phone and had a short conversation with whomever before hanging up,''i gotta go'' he lifted his eyes to elena and phoebe from the doorway of the room,''you believe there's actual news to cover this town?'' he teased with a smile.

both elena and phoebe nodded in understanding.

''all right, use keywords to search the database. it's pretty easy to navigate. and brady down in tech will help you out with anything you need'' logan explained to the girls.

''okay'' the girls sent the man a grateful smile.

"all right?'' logan asked in assurance, earning a nod from the two girls, before he turned to leave.

he then turned back,''oh, hey'' he caught elena and phoebe's attention,''could you two put a good word in for me with jenna?''

elena nodded with a smile,''you got it''.

''all right. good luck'' logan then left, closing the door, leaving elena and phoebe alone.

phoebe exhaled a breath, turning to elena,''Let's do this''.

elena nodded and began typing on the computer.

at the news station, elena and phoebe were still trying to figure out what exactly happened in 1953 at the salvatore boarding house.

elena pulled up the search terms, typing in 'joseph salvatore + animal attack', and when she pressed search one match footage popped up.

''there it is. are you ready?'' phoebe asked the gilbert girl, staring at the match title with an nervous expression.

elena hesitantly inhaled and exhaled a breath, her eyes never leaving the screen,''as ready as i'll ever be. we need to know the truth, phoebe'' she reminded her best friend, finally letting her eyes leave the screen and up to phoebe flashing a small smile.

phoebe met her eyes and nodded for elena to go ahead.

the two averted their eyes back to the screen before elena moved the mouse hand on the screen , clicking on the footage link.

an old footage video popped with michael fell on it,''this is michael fell reporting to you from the salvatore boarding house, where a brutal animal attack has ended in tragedy. okay, they're bringing out the bodies. see if you can get closer'' the camera zoomed in on the covered up body that came out of the house on a gurney.

phoebe and elena leaned closer to the screen to get a better look.

''is that the nephew?'' the camera moved and zoomed into where stefan stood in the doorway of the house, watching everything.

phoebe stared at the screen in disbelief, knowing for sure that was stefan standing there.

in 1953.

elena zoomed in the screen with a button on the keyboard, also realizing the man in the video was most definitely her boyfriend, stefan salvatore.

it was already night when phoebe got home.

after everything she learned today, she settled down on her bed and grabbed her journal, knowing what to write now,''dear diary, i'm not a believer. people are born. they grow old and then they're supposed to die. that is just the world we live in. but how can i deny what's right in front of me? someone who never grows old, never gets hurt. someone who can change in ways that can't be explained'' she paused letting out a shaky sigh.

''girls being bitten. bodies being drained of blood'' phoebe finished, setting down the journal on the bed.

phoebe then stood from the bed, moving to grab her keys, finally coming to one possible explanation.

she was about to exit her room again when her phone vibrates in her pocket.

she pulled out the phone, reading a text from elena,'come get me, we're going to stefan's'.

phoebe clenched her jaw, replying with,'okay, see you in a few'.

she sighed, sticking her phone back in her pocket, rushing out of the room, downstairs, and out the door again, locking it behind her.

the teen quickly hopped in the car, starting it up, exiting the driveway, and driving toward elena's house.

as soon as phoebe pulled up in front of the gilbert household, elena was already waiting outside so when she saw phoebe's car, she immediately rushed over and hopped in,''let's go''.

phoebe nodded and drove away from elena's house to the salvatore house, hoping to finally learn the truth about stefan.
