Chapter 19

PREVIOUSLY...

I was freed by that...thing. Anyway, it's about 3pm at the current timing and I was heading to the training grounds to see whoever is training and train with them. On my way to the training room, I saw Sinbad, Alibaba and Morgiana entering the room where Sinbad keeps all his loot from dungeon capturing. I took a peek and saw Morgiana wearing some weird, huge gold claws on her hands with her cheeks puffed up. My attention was then grabbed by a voice calling my name.

"Oiii!!! (Y/n)!! Over here!"

"Oop- Hey Sharr bro."

"Hey sis. So what are we gonna do today?"

"I don't know, you were to one who woke me up last night to the point I overslept idiot!!"

"Ahaha, sorry sorry, let's get right into it!"

YOUR P.O.V

We arrived at the training ground, where weapons such as wooden swords, daggers, knives, wool-covered spear thingies, fake arrows, anything, you name it. There were all types of fake weapons. From my peripheral vision, I saw Sharrkan picking up a wooden sword, checking it's weight. Following his lead, I went to the tool box to grab a wooden knife and daggers. I hid some in my clothes, hoping he didn't see.

"You ready (Y/n)?"

"Sure I guess. But damn you look smug, I wanna rip that smile of yours off."

"Bring it on sis."

We stay at our position, getting into a fighting stance. I've only fought with Sharrkan a few times, so to be honest, I was pretty nervous. After all, he's a great swordsman, the best in Sindria probably, I wouldn't know. I stared him dead in the eye, trying to predict his move, preferably not wanting to make the first move.

Sharrkan charged straight at me, swinging his sword ridiculously fast, causing me to evade and stumble a little. The wooden sword he held touched the fabric of my clothes. He's fast, I gotta be careful. I swerved to the side and counterattacked, stabbing my knife into the air. My attack missed Sharr by a centimetre. I clicked my tongue and grabbed a dagger from my pants using my left hand and swung it towards Sharrkan.

The attack caught him off guard, making him lose his balance for a moment. I took this as a chance to attack again, charging at him in full speed. I pushed him back using the side of my right hand, making it a fist and swung my left hand towards his arm, making the sword drop out of his grasp. He fell onto the ground with me on top of him, the dagger in my left hand stabbed the floor right next to his ear.

"Well, who do you know. I won."

"Sis, you know, you're stronger than you look."

Scoffing, I got of him and dusted my shirt, walking to the loot box to put away the weapons.

"Of course I have to be strong. I'm an ex-assassin, if I'm not strong, I would be dead a long time ago."

I turned back and walked towards Sharrkan, pulling him up from the floor. I patted his back and smiled, lowkey happy that I won against him.

"Your fighting style and mine are different. If you were to use your household vessel, you would be much stronger Sharr."

"Hmm, fair point."

"Well, I'll head back to my room. Gonna take a nap first."

"Alright sis, see ya."

"Bye bro."

I turned around and walked back to my room, not expecting anything out of the ordinary until I heard Alibaba and the princess Kougyoku at the training ground. Not wanting to get into their business, I ran away as fast as I could, getting onto the second floor where my room is located. 

And I bumped into a certain someone. Ja'far.

"Uh...hi Ja'far."

"Hey (Y/n). Look, can we talk for a minute?"

"Sure I don't mind. What is it?"

He grabbed my wrist and pulled me gently to the side of the large palace hallways.

"So...I have been thinking of your confession."

"Oh...What...What is your reply?"

"Even though I didn't really feel much around you back when we were kids, now...is a completely different thing."

I stared into his eyes, trying to decipher what he is thinking right now. He keeps on averting his eyes, and indication that he's nervous. And to be honest, I am too. It has been a few days since my confession and I'm going to get an answer.

"Now, I had moments where I get nervous around you. Sorry if this sounds...kinda cheesy but, I have fallen for you, (Y/n)."

Blood rushed into my cheeks as I heard that statement. Tears pricked my eyes out of happiness, making me pull Ja'far into an embrace.

"Are you speaking the truth?"

"Of course I am. Why would I lie to you about this?"

I pushed him back slightly, looking at his face, a large grin plastered on both of our faces. He placed his right hand on my cheek, caressing it softly as if I was a fragile crystal. Slowly, he placed his lips on mine, pulling me into a soft kiss. It felt like a bliss, like a flower bloomed in my heart, leaving a serene place. (Not Hanahaki dammit)

We pulled away from each other, staring at each other's faces. Ja'far let go of me, grinning slightly. Our attention was soon diverted by a loud sound outside the palace.

BOOM (In my defense I don't know how stuff sounds like)

We ran towards  the nearest balcony, seeing Sinbad and Kougyoku in the air, most likely having a sparring session. The expression on my face darkened when the princess yelled out the words "Extreme magic." A large wave from the sea, making my natural instincts yell run. Luckily, Sinbad stopped the waves with his wind power, I assume from one of his seven metal vessels. The princess smiled maniacally, charging for another attack while Sinbad unequip his djinn equip, falling slowly towards the ground.

"What is he doing-"

"It's alright (Y/n), he's just switching djinn equip."

"Alright..."

Not long after Ja'far said that, Sinbad turned into another djinn equip that looks like...a child?

"It's Zepar! Everyone close your ears!!"

Not knowing what to do, I just did as Ja'far told us to, clasping my hands onto my ears as hard as I could. After a few moments, I heard a scream, not knowing why. Soon enough, I lost my consciousness.
