Chapter 20

PREVIOUSLY...

We ran towards the nearest balcony, seeing Sinbad and Kougyoku in the air, most likely having a sparring session. The expression on my face darkened when the princess yelled out the words "Extreme magic." A large wave from the sea, making my natural instincts yell run. Luckily, Sinbad stopped the waves with his wind power, I assume from one of his seven metal vessels. The princess smiled maniacally, charging for another attack while Sinbad unequip his djinn equip, falling slowly towards the ground.

"What is he doing-"

"It's alright (Y/n), he's just switching djinn equip."

"Alright..."

Not long after Ja'far said that, Sinbad turned into another djinn equip that looks like...a child?

"It's Zepar! Everyone close your ears!!"

Not knowing what to do, I just did as Ja'far told us to, clasping my hands onto my ears as hard as I could. After a few moments, I heard a scream, not knowing why. Soon enough, I lost my consciousness.

JA'FAR'S P.O.V

I caught (Y/n) in my arms as she lost consciousness from Zepar's power. I completely forgot that she has heightened hearing due to the training we got from being in Sham Lash, and more so since she just escaped from them. I positioned her princess-style and told the guards to keep watching out if they can as many were wiped out by Zepar's power. I carried (Y/n) and brought her to her room, setting her down on her snow-white bed and pulled the covers on her. This really had to happen as we confessed to each other.

I looked around the room and walked to her desk, seeing papers filled to the brink, to the point you can't see the table itself. The papers were filled with letters and drawings, showing her effort in improving both her writing and art. I couldn't help but smile and started organising her papers, putting the writing and art papers in its own stack.

I sat down on the chair next to her bed and stared at her face. I stood up slightly and placed my hand on her face, rubbing her cheek. Smiling, I opted for a rest after having to work so hard and put my head on the bed, relaxed my body and went to sleep.

My eyes fluttered open as I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see a beautiful face, staring right into my eyes, as if she's watching my every move, curious as to what I'll do by her waking me.

"Ja'far? You slept here?"

"Yeah. Are you okay? You got put to sleep with Zepar's power."

"Mhm I'm okay. And who's Zepar?"

"Zepar is Sinbad's djinn. He used Zepar's djinn equip just now and put you and a lot of people to sleep my instructing their soul to do so."

"Oh I see. Are we going for dinner or nah?"

"Of course we are. Let's go."

I grabbed her hand and head to the mirror to comb our hair, since it's messy. After we're done, we walked out of the room hand in hand. A door in front of us was opened slightly but (Y/n) doesn't notice it. I stopped in my tracks, making (Y/n) stop too. Peering into the small gap through the door, I saw Alibaba and Princess Kougyoku talking with each other, the princess still in bed.

"Ja'far? What'cha looking at at?"

"Oh nothing. Let's go."
