Chapter 10

Your P.O.V

I finished up the last bits of my meal and cleaned up after myself. Passing my dishes to the maids, I sat up thinking on when I should ask Rurumu for consultation. I was walking down the hallway, completely lost in thought, not realising the white haired freckled male catching up to me. So of course I would be slightly surprised by his presence.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"GAH! Jeez, tell me when you're there, you scared me."

"Sorry, sorry. But this is totally not like you. You look very troubled. And I want to ask, what did you-  why are you running again?!"

I knew where this was going. I sped off with him hot on my trail. My face was hot as I recalled the previous 'encounters' of me  telling him. The longer I wait, the more the feelings grow. It started as a normal puppy love, me crushing on him and now, I'm smitten. At a quite short amount of time too, we didn't see each other for years.

"(Y/n)! Wait! Why are you running away from me?"

Ah shit. I still couldn't get him away. I thought I would due to my short stature. I was wrong. Completely wrong. Ja'far only got closer to me each second. I noticed what was slowing me down and quickly took it off and threw it to Ja'far's direction. I heard a yelp as I gained speed and ran off to a corner, controlling my breathing so that he wouldn't find me easily. Panting quietly isn't easy ya'know? I scanned my surroundings and realised I was quite close to Rurumu's room. Ah, this is it. No turning back now. I gulped and knocked on the door, occasionally checking whether Ja'far was still around the area. I gave out a sigh of relief as I heard the door creak, revealing Rurumu.

"(Y/n)? What do you need?"

"Uh I- I need consultation on a certain topic. And I'm kinda running away from the person who caused this topic to exist- well kinda- so um..."

"Oh, do come in. I'm not busy so I have the time to give you any kind of advice."

I nodded and entered the room, closing the door behind me. I walked towards Rurumu as she told me to sit on the chair across hers. I gulped, feeling a tad bit nervous as I never really spoke to anyone about what I feel. I brushed a bit of dust from the robe I was wearing and sat down on the chair, the exact way Rurumu taught me to during our mini class on basic etiquette. I saw a small smile grow on her face as I took a deep breathe.

"Now (Y/n), what type of consultation do you need?"

"Uh- well you see, it's a little complicated. I need...advice on...uh- love."

That was when I my face became hot and red as fu- we don't curse in this household stop it as I looked down on my lap. A few seconds later I heard a soft chuckle from Rurumu, causing me to look up in my flustered state.

"Ah I see. I knew this time would come but I didn't know you would ask me now."

And after that sentence my face became redder, if that's even possible.

"It's about Ja'far isn't it? i have seen the way you act around him."

I kept my cool and tried my best to answer her.

"Uh- yes. I wanted to ask you what I should do...I've been feeling a little troubled, I don't know whether I should confess now or wait. I'm well, generally a little- actually a lot- scared that I would be rejected."

I looked up to make eye contact with her to see a gentle smile adorn her radiant face. Her gentle features calmed me down a bit as I looked at her with expecting eyes.

"Believe in yourself. Confess when you feel you're ready. You should do it before someone else does it."

"Aww come on Rurumu, don't tease me." 

I stared out the window pouting slightly. The soft giggles coming from Rurumu filled the quiet room. I stood up bowing.

"I'll take my leave. Thank you for the advice Rurumu."

I left the room before I could hear what Rurumu said. I sprinted towards my room and quickly shut the door, hoping no one saw me. I sat down on my bed and thought about how I was supposed to confess to Ja'far. Who are you kidding? Shit, this is so not like me, what's wrong with me? I ended up laying on the bed and soon fell into a deep slumber.
