Chapter 17

FLASHBACK,,YOUR P.O.V

Lessons ended after a few hours and it was already time for lunch. I was already mentally exhausted after the lessons and would really love to grab a bite. I walked towards the dining room where I saw someone I wasn't expecting.

Ja'far

He was sitting down eating his lunch peacefully with no one around. Of course since lunch time was 'officially' at 12 noon and two hours have passed from that time.

Good lord I didn't know I was going to bump into him this early. Gaining some courage, I walked up to him. He noticed my presence and grinned at me, motioning to sit down beside him. I pulled out the chair and do as told as a maid came behind me to ask what food I want for lunch.

"(F/f) please. If there is any."

She nodded and walked off to get my food as all my attention was diverted to Ja'far. I felt nervous and shy around him, knowing that this could possibly be the time I would confess to him.

"So...how's it going Ja'far?"

"Nothing much. How about you?"

"Pretty much the same as you. I'm sorry for being so awkward."

"No no it's fine. So...do you want to tell me that thing you've been hiding from me?"

PRESENT TIME

Beads of sweat rolled down my forehead as Ja'far stared at me, waiting for an answer. I gulped and made eye contact with him, letting out a sigh and grabbed his hand. He looked at me in confusion and I just shook my head and whispered,

"Let's talk about it in private yeah?"

He nodded in response and we passed by the maid that was preparing my food. I told her to just put it somewhere so that no one else would take it and that I was gonna be gone for a while. She smiled and proceeded to put my food elsewhere and told me that she would be right around where the food is so I know where it is when I come back. 

I dragged Ja'far towards a corner in the nearby hall which barely anyone passes through, unless it's the guards. I took a deep breathe and made eye contact with Ja'far, my face flushed instantly. Why does he have to look so hot-

"Hey, if you're that nervous you don't have to rush it okay?" -Ja'far

"No, no it's okay. It's been quite some time I've been hiding this from you so I think it's finally time to tell you." -(Y/n)

Fiddling with my fingers, I tried to calm myself down before telling him. Confessing your love to someone isn't something easy and it's terrifying. Especially since I was separated from Ja'far for quite a long time, it was pretty easy for me to become comfortable around him after all these years but friendship and love are basically two different things. I felt Ja'far's stare on me and mustered up the courage to finally say it.

"Um..how do I say this...ever since we first met as kids, I thought there was something special about you. I didn't know what it is then nor do I know it now..."

I made eye contact with him once again and 'scanned' his face and tried to decipher his emotions. (A/N Sorry I ran out of words lol is this a game- XD) Noticing his anticipation, I took another deep breath and continued,

"When you first left...the thing I said was 'I love you'."

Ja'far's eyes widened. He was probably not expecting this even though I think I was quite obvious. Even though how I act around him is pretty subtle.
