Chapter 9

Ja'far P.O.V

I dipped my pen in the inkwell and continued signing the papers that Sin didn't do. My eyes were heavy but I refused to stop signing the papers from the awfully tall stack. It was comparable to the height of ten 5cm books, which equals to half a meter. I was worn out as it has been hours since I started signing the papers, but due to all the distractions, I only managed to finish two thirds of it.

Stretching my hands, I glanced at the clock. 2:30 huh? Letting out an exhausted sigh, I stood up and cleared my table. I put aside the papers that have yet to be done and organised the finished papers. I placed the finished papers in the empty drawer. Taking my keffiyeh, I placed it on my head and walked to the door. I opened the door, closed it and walked through the dimly lit hallways, which were lit up with a couple of torches and the natural moonlight.

"I wonder what (Y/n) wanted to say to me. Every time she's about to tell me, I either didn't hear, or she was interrupted, as cliche as it sounds. "

Passing by the said girl's room, I decide to have a little look. Opening the door slightly, I peeked in. The sight made my lips upturned into a small smile. She was breathing steadily, her hair was messy, she hugged a pillow closest to her loosely and her blanket long gone. I was glad she finally could sleep comfortably, unlike sleeping on the floor or sharing a bed. I closed the door and continued walking towards my room. As soon as I shut the door, I made my way to the bed and covered myself with the blanket. Closing my eyes, I find myself slowly falling into a deep slumber.

TIMESKIP

Knock Knock Knock

I stirred in my sleep uncomfortably. Who has the right mind to wake me up at this timing??? I was irked. I didn't manage to eat dinner last night due to the distractions as well as the fact Sin didn't do his work.

Knock Knock Knock

I checked the time and realised that it was almost time for breakfast. Groaning slightly, I shut my eyes. At this point, I didn't care, I just wanted to get some rest.

Knock Knock

I was so ready to throw my pillow towards the door until I heard a familiar voice.

"Ja'far. Wake up. It's time for breakfast. You shouldn't skip your meals."

I slowly got up and dragged my feet towards the door. I was not in the mood for anything today, but honestly, I would do anything to see her face. Opening the door, I was greeted by a warm smile.

"Hmm? You called?"

"Wow your bedhead didn't change at all huh?"

"Good to know."

 "Jeez don't overwork yourself. You look damn tired. You okay?"

"Yes, (Y/n). I'm fine. Let's head to the dining hall."

"Woah woah woah. I'm not letting you go without you not getting ready. "

"Fine fine."

YOUR P.O.V

I waited outside Ja'far's room as he made himself look presentable. I wonder when I'm going to tell him truthfully what I said that day. It seems as if I always have something to stop me from telling him. Shaking my head, I decided to distract myself by singing, even though I sound like a dying seal, I don't even know what the heck is a seal!

I started singing (the song that is in your head right now) quietly. I prefer not to be heard by someone. Doing a little dance, I recalled the moments I experienced here in Sindria. A lot of things happened in such a short amount of time. I smiled to myself leaning on the wall.

"What are you smiling about?"

"GAAAAAAH! Ja'far don't go around like that."

"Guess my assassin skills haven't gone away."

That idiot...He's the only one who can make me scared. Look at him giving me a smug look.

"Shall we go?"

"Yes, Mr Not disappeared assassin skill."

We continued walking as he ignored me. A little annoyed that he ignored me but that's okay. As soon as I got over it, there was a peaceful silence around us. It mad me feel...warm. But that silence was broken by the one and only Ja'far.

"Hey...what were you about to say that day?"

As soon as he said that, I got fidgety. I became nervous and just said the first word in my mind.

"What?"

"You know, when we were younger and when Sin interrupted us."

"Oh, that day. I was...I was gonna say that..."

"...that?"

"IwasgonnasaythatIabsolutelyloveyou!"

"Wait, I didn't get that. Don't run!"

And with that I dashed towards the dining hall. I noticed someone familiar eavesdropping us. I'm gonna have to deal with her later. Panting, I stopped in my tracks as I arrived at the dining hall. I walked over to Yamraiha, greeted her and proceeded to take a seat next to her. We chatted for quite sometime until I felt someone nudge my head. I took a short glance at the person and sighed. She opened her mouth to protest but I cut her off.

"Shut up Lily"

"But I haven't said anything yet."

"I know what you're gonna say."

"And that is?"

"Sigh You saw didn't you? Don't you dare talk about that to anyone."

"What are you gonna do about it?"

"I'll slowly gouge your eyes out."

"Yikes. Wouldn't want that."

"Piss off."

"Fine fine."

As we chatted, I noticed Ja'far entering the dining hall, along with the blonde haired boy from last night and a fanalis girl and a blue-haired kid. I gave him a questioning look, and he mouthed that Sinbad would introduce them to me later. Nodding my head, I ate my food quietly. That is, until Sinbad called me.

"(Y/n), I'd like to introduce you to them."

"Oh. K. Wait you're the boy who got the wrong room last night weren't you?"

The blonde haired boy became embarrassed and started muttering 'sorry's and earning a teasing from his friends.

"Okay can you just introduce yourselves please? No one disturbs me with my food."

"Uh- yeah. My name is Alibaba."

"Morgiana."

"Hi miss! I'm Aladdin! You are very pretty miss!"

"Sure....Anyways I'm continuing eating. Sinbad said my name already so that's that. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too miss!"

TIMESKIP

After finishing my breakfast, I decided to talk and get advice from Lily and Rurumu. That is if Lily is even helpful. I hope they will be able to keep my secret, the secret that I am head over heels for Ja'far. After all, I trust them the most. I'm never gonna ask that Idiot King for love advice. I wonder how this is gonna go.....

Hey there. I was a little upset just now but I feel great now! Wattpad decided to delete my previous Chapter 9 draft that I wrote so this particular Chapter is rewritten. And I like this better actually. But that doesn't change the fact that Wattpad deleted my 800+ words draft. Anyways, I hope you like this chapter. I wrote Ja'far as how I see him, I hope you don't mind.
