Summary: Tony made a time travel machine.

// TW: Sadness. A lot of sadness. Long story (probably). //

Tony stumbled through a box on his lab's floor. He furrowed his eyebrows, wondering who entered his lab after he hasn't been there for three years. He put down the boxes on the table then crouch down to examine the box.

When he open it, he saw a lot of sketches about Spider-Man's suit and some pictures lying in the box. He look through few sketches and it reminds him of how much he loved Peter back then. He take a polaroid covered in dust and he blow it gently.

"Mr. Stark, hi!" Peter greeted.

"Hey kid, how's school?" Tony just keep focusing on his suit. "There's this one kid- I don't know if I should tell you this. Maybe its kind of unnecessary." He just put his bag on the table.

"Come on kid, tell me about it." He stop focusing on his armor and turn to Peter. "He's smart, stronger than me, and a really good kid. I lowkey got insecure because he's literally your type of kid."

Tony just laughed when he heard about it. "Come on Peter, you know better. Yeah, he might be smart, strong and a really good kid but there's one thing he's missing."

Peter tilted his head, feeling weird about it. "Hold on, stay still."

Tony grab his phone and take a picture of him. "One thing he's missing is this." He showed the picture.

"What do you mean? That's me?"

"Yeah, that kid isn't you. I don't want a kid who is 'better' than you because they're not you, Parker. You're my kid."

He just can't believe that he still remember about the event behind that polaroid. Another polaroid fell from the stacks and he look at them.

"Peter!" Tony shouted. "Hold on kid!"

He skidded his body through the balcony and grab Peter's hand. "Come on, I'll pull you up!"

Tony can hardly pull him from the balcony but managed to grab Peter. "You could've died! What were you thinking without your suit!?"

Peter just look down, holding his tears while listening to Tony's mad lecture. "God- I am so sorry. I shouldn't be mad at you like that. I'm really sorry."

"Its alright Mr. Stark, it was my fault for trying to help." Peter didn't dare to look up with his glassy eyes.

"I know I'm not a perfect mentor, I'm just afraid to lose you. I can't afford that."

Peter look up with his tears streaming down the cheeks and Tony instantly hug him tightly. "We still have stories to write, so, do not go anywhere. Even if its imperfect, you make it perfect."

Tony suddenly curved a smile on his face when he still remember about his memories with Peter. He shot his head up and look toward the lab entrance, just imagining whenever Peter would walk through the door and he would go for a long hug with him. Unbeknownst against him, his tears were already running down. Those days were happier back then when he still had him.

"I lost the kid." Tony mumbled. Nebula appear behind them, holding a small body.

"We lost, Tony." Steve sadly expressed his grief.

After a few days focusing on recovery, he finally had the courage to step into his lab. He spend three days just sitting in the middle of his lab. The hope he had for Peter to magically appear in front of the lab entrance just hurts him a lot. Tony wants Peter to come back to him, he wants Peter to be home. He wants to see the smile that never fades away.
