Bad Timing - Jiara (JJ Maybank & Kiara Carrera)

Chapter 3

And now, after terrible misunderstandment, Kiara has to figure out the two elements to forgiveness, while JJ learns the two ways to earn that forgiveness.

Embarrassment is a painful but important emotional state. Most researchers believe that the purpose of embarrassment is to make people feel badly about their social or personal mistakes so that they'll learn not to repeat the error.

But was what Kiara did an error? What is wrong, what she told JJ? And will she learn not to repeat it again? Probably not.

Usually, the accompanying physiological change. Blushing, sweating, or stammering may signal to one that a person recognizes their own error, and said one is not cold-hearted or oblivious. Except JJ was exactly that; cold-hearted and oblivious.

Two times. She'd embarrassed herself two times. JJ despised acting like a jerk, forcingly humiliating Kiara, hopeful that would be reason enough for her to hate him. That's exactly what they both needed, not that JJ thought that much about what he needed, but nevertheless, he made it his goal, because he knew, she would be devastated if chose to spend the last few days loving her, only to leave later for jail. He would be, too.

It wasn't superiority, it was a fact; Kiara Carrera would be miserable all her life if JJ Maybank gave her a reason to believe in them again, so making her blood boil was the only way he'd make sure being miserable isn't how Kiara is going to spend her life.

With JohnB was in disguise with Sarah Cameron, the Pogues, for the day, consisted of JJ and Pope, and Kiara. JJ thought Kie sounded anxious on the phone when she agreed to hang out with JJ, which wasn't unexpected, but what dazzled JJ was the fact that she was more anxious about the trip rather than JJ being there. (Level one of JJ's thoughts; the over-worrying)

She told him a day before that she was fine, just isn't in the mood to party. She hated parties, which wasn't new, too. Yet, taking a ride on the HSM pogue was her favorite thing to do. (Level two; the Skepticism)

But then again, it was getting late, so late that the sun had almost, not as bright as it would usually be, that's probably why she's anxious. For a Kiara, going out after 6 p.m. was terrifying. (Level three; the reasons)

She's fine. She's always anxious. Probably just because Sarah's in town, and because of him, of course. (Level four, the conclusion)

"I am just saying, let's say you actually go to jail, JJ, chances are, you only have a couple days left with her, and you're completely wasting them," Pope commented, even though part of him knew talking to JJ was like talking to a stone wall, there was no breaking him down, nor was he capable of changing his mind. 

JJ only merely replied, just enough to shut him up, "Pope, just look at her man, she's too precious, I feel guilty just looking at her." 

And with that Pope followed JJ's eyes to see Kiara chatting a group of girls on the dock a few meters away from them. Typically, she was laughing, like she always does but JJ guess the group of three kook-looking girls dressed with Versace from top to bottom only wanted to get close to Kiara so that they could to JJ. 

He remembers Kiara telling him, "They always ask me if we broke up so that they could get to you. It's annoying," and then he tells her, "Cut them off!" and she replies with, "Why? Like seeing the jealousy on their face when I tell them you're  stuck with me forever."

That explains why Kiara dropped her smile as soon as they were behind her after she walked past him. It was never a real smile to begin with. And by the way the three girls were looking at him like a lion looks at a gazelle, she finally told them them the 'good' news they wanted to hear. Great, now he has to be a jerk to them, too, that would be enough to repel them.
