The smell of the alcohol last night was intoxicating, yet this morning it adds to nausea. The thirst continuously stays in JJ's mouth after each slow drink of water from the water bottle on his bedside table and his head felt fit to crack open.
"Hey," The boy greets veritably when he noticed the now-awake girl beside him, a genuine smile growing across his face.
"Shit, shit, shit, shit," She muttered, voice gradually going from loud to low as the stir in her heart goes from satisfaction to pure and utter guilt.
"You okay?" JJ asks with utter confusion, for this sure was one weird way for a person to wake up, that's if you called what the girl JJ couldn't remember the name of waking up, for she was just shaking her head vigorously as if that's going to shake the visions of last night and the scent of alcohol on her tongue away.
"I am sorry, I just-i shouldn't have slept with you," She begins as she snatches the blanket away from JJ and around her fragileness, revealing JJ's nude body that she didn't bother stopping to look at as she wrapped the comforting softness of the blanket around, proceeding to gather her scattered clothes from the floor.
"Yeah, yeah, okay. I get it, it's fine," JJ smirks, partly true, for every girl now tasted the same, one slightly different, yet still all of them were inconsequential to him or his heart, and well for his body, it was already pleased.
"No, no, it was nice, it-it was amazing, but, I don't want anyone to know that I hooked up with you. Can you please not tell anyone?" she hesitated, partly true, for if she could, she'd turn back the clock and undo the chaos JJ Maybank suggested and she accepted.
"Yeah, sure." The boy chuckles at the unfamiliar words, his nose scrunching as he lazily rolls from his side to his back to face the girl who was mid-clothing herself.
"Okay, thanks. I don't want the girls to slut-shame me if they knew I slept with a guy who hooks up with a different girl every night," She joked with her jovial voice, but still hinting truth behind her harmless words.
"Yeah, whatever, it's fine," JJ rolls his eyes as he becomes aware of himself tensing up. Maybe it was because he was receiving a lot of rejection in these couple of days that he was scared his charm was finally warring off, but perhaps it was because the one girl he wished would give her attention to him, didn't, but she still look fabulous while doing it. He just couldn't get the envisionment out of his head, and for it to go past the firewall that was his intoxication, it truly had to be a sight.
Eventually, and anxiously the girl slowly makes her way out of his house, obviously regretting the decisions that got her here in the first place as she recalls Sarah's rule which consisted of five simple words; 'JJ Maybank is a big no'
He was never someone who cared about other people's opinions, but even a carless boy like JJ sometimes lets words get to him. He knew that what he was doing wasn't right, but he never thought of the impact it could have on his life. Before he could finally rethink his life decisions for the first time in what felt like an eternity of paradise, his phone rings snapping him out of him thoughts that were running mad in the small brain of his, followed by his stumbling around the room trying to find the source of the ringing.
"Hey, you're late, we were supposed to surf?" Pope says as soon as JJ picks up, as the blond facepalms, obviously forgetful, just like he knew he would.
"Oh right! I-i am on my way" JJ places his phone on speaker and places it on his bedside table as he puts his shirt on, hoping his voice sounded convincing enough.
"I told you not to forget you idiot" JB scolds from the other side of the phone as JJ hangs up on him mid-speaking, for to JJ, it was too early for his daily scolding.
Surfing was one of his favorite things, if he ever needed to clear his head, he'd go surfing even during a hurricane, especially during a hurricane, and meanwhile, he and the pogues were lost in paradise, Kiara and her best friend, Sarah Cameron had another fight. Apparently, Kiara doesn't like going on double dates with Chase and Topper Thornton, who were the brothers also known as Kie and Sarah's boyfriends, respectively.
She liked spending time with Sarah, and kind of an alright time with her boyfriend, but Sarah always wanted Topper to join her and it was already boring enough hanging out with her own boyfriend, let alone Sarah's boyfriend.
"Look, I am just saying, they don't have to come every time you and I hang out!" Kiara mumbles, trying not to feel guilty as she spat out her words, knowing the walls would be too thin to keep the conversation in this room and this room alone.
"Why? I thought you wanted to spend time with us!" Sarah yells incredulously, careless as to why Kiara thought of her boyfriend, for in her eyes, Topper was her knight and shining armor, but for Kiara, he was purely a douchebag.
"Yes, I wanted that, but not every. single. day! What if I want to spend some alone time with you? What if I want to tell you gossipy stuff? How can I tell you anything with them constantly with us!" She yells back defensively, now realizing that this whole argument is being heard by Topper and Chase who sat a few rooms away, and then noticing that this was way bigger than double dates and boy drama...she just felt the need to tell Sarah about her encounter with JJ, but she couldn't, which made her feel guilty, as if she did something wrong, and she didn't like feeling guilty.
Both her and Sarah won't get the end of this, for their boyfriends would probably think they had something to hid, which they didn't, it's just overwhelming having to constantly. be on her best behavior, and not goofing around like Sarah and Kie did before their boyfriends could take control over their actions.
"This is really stupid. Plus, it's your boyfriend! What could you possibly tell me that he wouldn't know" Sarah rolls her eyes as she finally goes back to the dull tone she was always using, knowing this argument was overdue.
"That's beside the point! and-and" Kiara tried to continue her argument, but she too also realized that it was utterly useless.
"You know what?" Kie speaks up, sighing in tiresome. "Just forget it" She adds, trying her best to form a smile as she gathers her stuff and spins on her heels, getting ready to leave.
"where are you going, babe?" Chase appeared from the room he was known to be in, his monotonous appearance always the same as before; frontward hat with a grimy smile that always seemed too fake to be real.
"Surfing?" She said incredulously for her destination was obvious from the large surfboard tucked under her arm.
"Alright, text me when you're back home," Chase ordered, followed by pressing gentle lips on the girl's lips that seemed to instantly relax her.
She shot Chase a smile he won't remember before heading to the beach, looking for any sort of way to clear her mind but little did she know that she was just finding her way to JJ Maybank, for from then on, he'd always be the sweetest escape she could have ever asked for
