"I am here, okay?" The blond said as his thumb caressed Kiara's bruised cheek, instantly noticing the contusions dispersed all over her face, almost covering the hopelessness in her eyes-almost, but it wasn't enough since the bruises won the fight in convincing JJ and Sarah, who were the first two there, that Kiara is stable enough to lift her head up and look them in the eyes during what could be her last time perceiving them.

"We're just waiting for the doctor to get here, try to stay awake" She felt an oxygen mask being placed snugly over her nose and mouth. The female speaking was adjusting the mask until she saw it comfortable enough against Kie's face, but it wasn't, everything occurring in a rush was only passing painfully slow in Kiara's world of glimpses.

The ventilator rested firmly against Kiara's skin, the sensation of warmness in the seal it formed around her nasal area. As she attempted a breath, her heart found it much easier to deliver oxygen to her body that was gradually slipping, yet the pain in her ribs was increasing as well as the adrenaline level in her blood. Feeling her soul captured in her skull, Kiara attempted yet still failed to move her arm over to her face and remove the venture mask, and the only think keeping her alive to speak up in reply to the question the doctor asked about her medical history.
"she takes a medication called fludrocortisone acetate because of her low blood pressure" JJ replied instantly instead of her as she noticed from the corner of her eye. Apprehension was visible on him, unlike Sarah who was still in trauma. She looked fine when she was comforting the other family, yet viewing her best friend lying feebly wasn't a calming sight, and the nurses seemed to have figured that out as they dragged Sarah, who was not budging while she stood still, out of the unrecognizable room Kiara was transferred to after the ambulance delivered her.

"Kiara, is there anything we need to know before we proceed?" The doctor asked, removing the oxygen mask slightly when Kiara woke up from pitch blackness once again after being out of it for a few minutes, and Kiara figured that the doctor needed to be sure as she awaited Kiara's honest reply that JJ could not know the whole truth about.

"pregnant" Kiara chocked out, ready to zone back out, into her pitch blackness, yet the questions kept coming, for she thought her voice would be enough to stop them, but it was to faint to heard by anyone but her, and JJ who froze in his place.

Kiara could feel it when his hands got as cold as hers. JJ tried to force himself out of the trance Kiara had put him, attempting to differentiate reality from the nightmare that was having a child and Kiara's troubled yet steady hands from the consuming thought of doing the same thing when Kiara would be giving birth, yet in this case instead of birthing new life into the world Kiara might just be losing hers. She is trying to hold on but being consumed by the never-ending pain that only came with hopelessness was the worst feeling she has ever felt in her nineteen years on this planet, that is considering she has felt a load of terrible things.

"Are you pregnant Kiara?" The doctor repeated with a clear tone, leaving enough time between her words so that Kiara could comprehend her indefinite voice.

"No, I might be" She dozed off once again, then all of a sudden slightly jumping as she woke back up with the queries that came along with her awakening.

"You're not pregnant?" The doctor felt as negatively eager as JJ was, both waiting for the news that for some would change the next few hours of their day and for others their life till they take their last breath, which was what Kiara's breath felt like; final.

"She's not sure, she hasn't taken a test" JJ responded, as if he knew the truth, but he didn't, Kiara was just predictable, especially by him, yet he was so blindsided by the fact that she would never lie to him to the point where it took him a car crash and an utterly venerable Kiara to figure the truth out. She wasn't on birth control.
