Bad Timing - Jiara (JJ Maybank & Kiara Carrera)

Chapter 6

5 weeks later...

"Pigs are here early let's make a run for it" a worried pope screams making all the Pogues sprint towards their hippie van. JJ accidentally trips on his feet and am officers gets a grab of his shirt.

"JJ! Kie Stops in her tracks and shouts worriedly but the boy manages to get out of his grip and continue running. Kiara was still waiting for him, so he grabs her hand and sprint as fast as they could, laughing their asses off, then they jump in the van and pope closes the door shut behind them. 

"Phew that was close. You were almost caught JJ!!"Kiara lets out a sigh of relief.

"Awe, were you worried about me?" JJ asks her, still out of breathe from all his running.
"Shut up" she mumbles panting.

"We need to stop vaping! my lungs are dying" JJ chuckles gesturing to Kie as they both let out a snort. 

"HOLD UP- since when do you freaking vape, kiara!?" Sarah scolds her and kie could hear the judgement in her voice. 

"Since i met this dumbass" Kie says smacking the back of JJ's head, followed by him caressing the are after. 

"Oh what a great influence he is" Pope sarcastically comments shaking his head. She could see that JJ was also getting irritated by the constant judgment. 

"Ok, can you stop judging us now?" kiara snaps at her friends. 

"Chill we were just joking!" Sarah hisses back and Kie decides to stay silent, but there is truth behind every lie, and Kiara knew she was changing for the worse, and it was clear, even if she didn't want to admit it. Sarah wasn't one to talk anyways, she has also become erratic over the past five weeks of being great friends with the most reckless people you could put into one group. Ever since kie introduced Sarah to the pogues, they directly clicked. They have done things they never imagined they would ever do. From trespassing to causing irresponsible fights to not coming home in days. They were quite literally the talk of obx, but they didn't care. Besides, Chase wasn't there to stop Kie, for by then Kiara was now free of Chase, and well, Sarah and Topper, somehow made it work even though Sarah's recklessness.

 After escaping the police, the pogues decided that they were going to take their "HSM Pogue" for a ride on the march. 

"You look sexy" JJ comments as soon as everyone jumps off, leaving only him and kie in her plain black bikini.

"And you look stupid" she says as a form of reply, hiding of the fact that he was irresistible to her so well that even she forgot it for a second. 

"Ouch" he says in fake-hurt, pulling his hand over his chest to the wrong side of were he thought his heart was, which was followed by Kiara using her hand to move his to the right side, literally. The two held their gaze before kiara dropped it first, proceeding to continue the casual flirting. 

"Well that's what you get for still flirting with me" she says as she shrugs her shoulders innocently.

"Oh you know i am never going to stop kie, why do you even try" JJ says stating the obvious.
"You know what? You're right I shouldn't even try" kie agrees with the shirtless blonde boy facing her.
"So you won't bother if i flirt with you from now on?" JJ's eyes widen in surprise as she shakes her head in agreement to what he just said. 

"Oh so you won't bother if i did this..." he smirks then he slowly steps closer to her, gently grabbing her closer to him by her waist, their faces inches away from each other. 

Her breathe hitches as soon as she feels his touch. JJ's finger tips are electric, they must be, for wherever they touch her skin tingles in a frenzy of static. Her eyes flicker from his eyes to his lips and back to his eyes again, and as his hands move over her skin, her body has a transitory paralysis, her mind unable to process the pleasure so fast. His head moves around to her left ear and he whispers what's coming next. 

"Wanna go to the cabin?" he asks in a low voice only they could hear, referring to the small room under where they were standing in Sarah's expensive boat. 

Suddenly her body is off pause-mode, she doesn't know how to react to this new wave of emotion.

"Can you guys stop flirting and jump in already?" JohnB asks, plopping his head from the water they thought he was still under. 

"Uh, coming" she stutters nervously before getting a glimpse of a smirking JJ as she instantly pulls away from him. 

"We'll continue this later" The blonde boy shoots her a wink and then he jumps in the water before Kie could say anything. She waits on the boat for a while until her heartbeat calms down, then she joins everyone.

 And after hearing JJ and Pope arguing about who's a faster swimmer for an hour, the girls decided it's a good time to head back home. 

" but seriously, i could totally win in a race!" JJ says as he steps into the Pogue's favorite diner, the wreck.

"Right kie?" He questions her specifically her making snap from her trance.

"Mhm" she nods her head but she wasn't aware of what she was saying. She was too lost in JJ's distinctive feature. The voices of everyone's voices fade as she stares at his face, an open lip, a black eye, his wet blonde hair falling upon his face. When he notices her staring, a smirk creeps on his lips. He takes off his hat just to run his fingers through his hair, the he places it back on, knowing that would increase the unspoken tension growing between them. 

 Kie started to feel conscious of what she was doing so she put her thoughts on pause mode as she cleared her throat and made her way to the counter, running away from JJ's eyes. 

"Hey dad-" She spoke before he could cut her off. The place was owned by Kie's father, so she always convinces him to give her and her friends free meals, yet this time he seemed too upset to even negotiate with his daughter. 

"Kiara? Nice to see you honey you haven't been home in what-2 days!" He queries with all seriousness,  a little butt-hurt, and it obviously showed, but, after all, he did have the right to go mad at Kiara's behavior, for he's never seen the daredevil side of her. 

"I am sorry dad, i was staying at JohnB's" she goes in for a hug then he hugs her back reluctantly. 

"What are you eating? where are you showering-" he continues questioning his daughter as he breaks apart their hug, shutting him up with a glance that screamed for him to stop. 

"Dad, dad, i am fine. You remember when i told you we were hanging out with them at the march, yeah, so me and Sarah have been hanging out with them, and they have been nothing but nice and sweet. This is actually the first time i make friends who actually care about me." She calms her worried father down, who still wasn't convinced enough, for Sarah, he trusted, but the others, not so much. 

"i know it was hard for you to make friends in the kook academy, but i told you before and I'll tell you again, these boys, they're trouble, don't fall for one of them okay babygirl?" he says as he places a kiss on her forehead, yet all she did was gulp anxiously, nodding in agreement, reassuring her father even though she believed the utter opposite. 

"Yeah dad, of course. I know better" she smiles comfortingly, staring one look at JJ, as if regretful, and atlas, indeed regretful.
