Luna rushed into the house, her guitar in hand, and ran up the stairs to knock on Lucy's door.
She didn't notice or care that her siblings followed after her.
"Hey Lucy?" She opened the door a crack and peeked into the room.
Laying on black sheets was her younger sister Lucy. She was holding a poetry book revealing her pale bandaged arms. She didn't look up from her book when she heard Luna's voice so Luna opened the door further.
"Lucy? Got a minute?"
"Sigh." Lucy put her book down. "I don't want to talk. Please leave." Lucy was allowed to refuse to talk to anyone, except her parents, while she was recovering. It was her parents idea as to not push her too far before she was ready.
"Mind listening then?" Luna walked into the room with her guitar. "I wrote a new song."
"You have nine other siblings who can give you their opinion. You don't want mine." Lucy stated.
Luna cleared her throat. "Well, the song is for you so I really would like your opinion." She smiled.
Lucy stared at Luna, but the rock star couldn't see because Lucy's black bangs were always covering her eyes. "You wrote a song.. for me?" She asked her sister slowly.
Luna nodded. "Yeah, just a little something to hopefully make you feel a bit better. Cool if I play it?"
Lucy nodded and made a faint "mmm hmm" sound.
Luna started strumming her guitar slowly and cleared her throat again as she prepared to sing. *I am not a song writer, but I do write poetry so just bare with me if this sucks lol*
"When you were little.. you used to creep me out, but I loved you every single day.
Then you got older.. and you pushed us all out.. It feels like you've gone away.
Now you're fading.. and I'm wondering.. what can I do?
Please, don't go away.
Luna started strumming faster.
"It feels like you're gone, gone
But I want you home, come home
Please, don't go away.
If you just believe in us.. We're your family and you can trust..
We won't go away.
Please, don't go away.
I'm watching you fade.. from black.. to a dull kind of gray.
We didn't always notice, but we still loved you each day.
Now that you're older.. it's getting harder to see.. even when you're standing right in front of me.
But I promise you.. We're still family! We'll be here for whatever you need.
It feels like you're gone, gone
But I want you home, come home
Please, don't go away.
If you just believe in us.. We're your family and you can trust..
We won't go away.
Please, don't go away."
Luna fought back her tears to sing the last verse knowing it would be the hardest part to get through, but she belted it out anyway.
"I saw you laying there.. bleeding.. and I started sobbing.. shaking.. I thought for sure that you were gone.." Luna let some tears fall.
