26. Human Slaves

I open my eyes at the sound of approaching footsteps, I sit up so only my tail can be seen. I hear Osiris unclip the curtain and start to pull the curtain back making sunlight pool into my cage,
"Morning hybrid", I involuntarily growl at the name he has given me and tuck my tail around my self as I prop myself onto my elbow, I snap my head up as I hear him messing about with metal, I sneak a peek out to see him taking the bowls out of their holders and he frowns at one,
"Don't you like meat?" I cock my head at him as he looks through his eyelashes at me, his face goes blank as he shuts and locks the little door and turns towards the kitchen I presume, I get out and stretch out my tired limbs and head over to the fountain for a drink. I turn my body towards the wall so if he comes out I will be able to see him, I'm in the middle of gulping up some water when Osiris reappears with the bowls, I keep drinking as he unlocks the door and replaces the bowls, I stand up and lick my lips from the left over water droplets, I don't chance wiping my mouth since that's a humanish thing to do.
I watch as Osiris backs away from the cage and I decide to take a look at the food, I'm about half way to the food when I catch a scent of raw meat, I rush over and crouch down as I start eating away at the fruit.

After finishing the fruits I look down into the other bowl, there is a bunch of raw chicken legs and steak, my eyes brighten as I take the chicken legs and hurry to the base of the tree and begin stripping away the meat from the bone, as I start to crunch on the bone I catch a glance from Osiris but I carry on.
I lick my hands clean of blood and other fluids from the chicken and feel a light pressure on my abdomen, I poke my head out to see Osiris looking over from his place on the sofa, I come out and go over to the bush and do my business. I head back over to the tree and sit inside the base, I look up as Osiris starts to head back over towards me, my annoyance stirs up again as he crouches down in front of me and pushes his hands through the bars and holds his hand out, I could tell by the smell that it was a type of berry but I held my position and didn't give in to the temptation. He stays there for about fifteen minutes which to me is a hell of a long time to be keeping your arm outstretched for. He finally retracts his hand and smiles at me before he goes over to the sofa again and sits down.
I slowly come out and stretch my wings in a display, I half close them as I look behind me towards the window, I turn and thrust myself up into the air and beat down which sends me towards the window, I grip onto the sides of the window with my claws as I find the right footing on the window sill. I manage to perch comfortably and I tuck my wings in and let my tail fall idly over the window sill, I look out the window to see a massive green field with a thin line of trees circling around it. I look out with longing to be able to fly around in the open air again, I'm snapped out of my dream like state by very close footsteps, I look down to see Osiris going towards the bush with a pressure washer, I freeze as I watch him get to work behind the bush. After a while he finishes up and goes straight back out the gate without even looking up at me, the window is probably a good ten to fifteen feet from the floor, he reaches way over six feet so he weren't that far away from me.

After a while I glide down to the top of the tree which is about the same size as Osiris, I decide to stay there for about an hour huddled into a fetal position with my wings curled over me and my tail wrapped around me, it also serves a great pillow. I open my eyes at the sound of Osiris sighing,
"Are you lonely?" He asks as a questioning look washes over him, I slowly blink at him as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone, he stands and holds the phone to his ear and walks into the kitchen.
I wander what Caleb is doing.
I look up to see Osiris pulling on a coat, I raise my head in curiosity as he looks over,
"I'll be back in a bit", he quickly says as he walks out the front door.

I hear the door open and quickly snap my eyes open and raise my head from my current position on the tree, I shake my head as Osiris walks through with a box and a bag, my alarm bells instantly start ringing and I sit up in response, Osiris comes over and sits next to the bars and moves the box in front of him, he starts to unfold the tabs of the box and I place my palms on the edge of the tree to look in.
My eyes go wide as I see a grey tabby kittens head poke out and look around, I haven't seen a kitten in ages.
