I'm woken up as a sharp scraping sound of metal against metal rings in my eardrums, I sit up with a snarl but stop to see Trey in front of me with a key against the bars.

He notices me after my snarl and puts the key away and crouches down to my level,
"Can you walk?" I look down at my leg, I flex my muscles, there is a deep ache letting me know it's still healing,
"I might be able to with some help", I explain as he unlocks my cell and begins to change the bandage,
"I'm going to wrap it again so the sticks keeping your legs straight don't move", I hum a reply as he straps my leg up again.

He moves to my hand and unwrap it to see an ugly shade of black and blue he lifts it and I tense at the sharp pain,
"Broken", I hear Caleb slightly growl next to me at the information, Trey pulls something from his medic bag and straps my hand into it, he pulls it on tight almost blocking the blood supply from it.

He finishes and he goes out to unlock Calebs cell when he stops as his eyes glaze over, he suddenly snaps out of it and looks to me and Caleb with worry in his eyes,
"You can fly right?" He asks as he looks between me and Caleb nodding our heads, he lets out a breath and comes over towards me,
"I'm sorry but I got to do this so that it looks like your wings are broken", I'm about to ask him what he means when he grabs my wing and slashes at it with claws that have magically grown from his fingertips, I growl as he digs his nails into my wing, he quickly slings my wing up with a bandage,
"What the fuck was that for?!" I whisper yell at him,
"So you bleed more making it look convincing obviously" he says as he goes and does the same to Caleb but with both wings,
"You get both wings as her healing needs to be focused on her leg right now", Trey explains as he receives a death glare from Caleb.

"What's happening anyway", I ask as he takes us both by the arms and leads us upstairs,
"I was told to bring you two to the meadow for your punishment", I look at Caleb as we go through the doors which I know leads to the meadow, the sunlight blades through making me squint my eyes at the sudden light,
"When you have the chance break out of the sling, I did it loose enough so you can fly away", he whispers low enough for us to hear as a group of people look at us with disgust.

He leads us forward until we are in front of them and the infamous Ethan himself.

"I see they really made sure you couldn't get away or fly away in your case", a male comes forward with a smug grin at his statement,
"What's their punishment", Trey boldly asks as I feel his grip on me loosen,
"We are still discussing", the male says as he turns his back on us, Trey abruptly drops his hands and both me and Caleb lock eyes as we know it's the cue for us to leave, we both open up our wings flinging the bandages to aside and lifting ourselves up into the sky, I look down as the group flinches away and Trey is thrown across the meadow at the impact our wings did to him, I smile as they all start making a fuss and we ascend further into the sky.

We have probably flown for about a hundred miles taking five minutes break for every ten miles we flew, this was indeed the fastest I have ever flew before, we were both now in unfamiliar territory and were constantly on guard, but before we flew miles away we quickly went and picked up our stash of food still hidden away which we were now munching on perched up on the tallest tree on the side of a cliff,
"You alright?" I look up at Caleb as he balances on a branch no bigger than his hand, he doesn't look up as he cracks open a walnut with his nails, I look down at my own feet balancing on the branch and I look down through the canopy of trees to see a squirrel jumping from branch to branch, my tail twitches as it hangs beside me.

"Could be better I suppose", I reply as I finish off the strawberry I was picking at. I hear him sigh as I swallow down the fruit and look towards him with a questioning look,
"About what I was going to tell you", I raise my eyebrows urging him to go on I fiddle with my feathers as I realised he isn't looking at me.
He looks towards me as he begins to speak again,
"I was thinking about it yesterday when we were holding hands, but sometimes if the two destined people spend a certain amount of time together before the first month it can edge them on to feel what it would feel like once they meet after the first month," he pauses as his nail slips through a crack in the walnut making it slip open,
"So if one finds out there other hasn't gone through the first month would they still feel the same as if they were?" I ask he slowly nods as he thinks,
"What you just said", I pause as I think through my words,
"You could find your other only if you meet them before the first month which could trigger you to feel things earlier", he finishes for me.
I let out a long sigh as I furrow my eyebrows at my hands.
